Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

more staff at checkin... waited almost 2hrs to checkin.... staff was overwhelmed and quite slow.
Great location... across the street from a major shopping mall. Near restaurants and banks Rooftop pool is AMAZING with an incredible view of Medellin. The buffet breakfast was also great, Delicious with lots of variety and choices

Kitchen closes "early" and the service might not be THAT good. I had an issue with my food and not only it was not solved, but the people at the front desk looked more preoccupied to just answer than to actual solve my problem.
Breakfast was very good, location is very convenient as it is right in front of a huge Mall. Uber is super cheap in Colombia so it doesn't matter whether the hotel is closed to the centre of the city.

The cleaning staff were a bit too persistent to clean the room. We had already told the same cleaner twice to come back in an hour, and then someone else came (not a cleaner) to tell us that because the 'Do Not Disturb' sign was on the floor, it wasn't clear - even though we had already said. A bit confusing but overall, the only hiccup.
The sauna and Turkish bath were fantastic, the room was great and modern with all the amenities. Big bathroom and very light overall

The staff were friendly, the installations were clean, the location of the hotel is safe, taxis are near and the breakfast was great. Overall, the stay at Hotel Estelar Square was and excellent experience and would recommend it if asked for a good place to stay at Medellín.

the gym and pool area were really small and fell below my expectation. but i still enjoyed the service at the pool which made up for it
I really enjoyed all the services and effort the hotel staff made. a few days before my return trip i needed a covid test and i asked the hotel if they knew a good place to go and get one. the hotel instead found a nurse who could come to my room and administer the test. beyond impressed

Most staff barely speak English. Hotel is not that close to public transportation but Uber is supper cheap in Columbia .
The price was amazing for such a great hotel. Super clean. Nice staff. Food was good and the included breakfast was great. The gym and pool were great. Hotel is close to a mall which is very convenient for shopping, getting hair and nail done.

The pool and sauna closed at 8pm. The location didn't feel very walkable, but the taxis were affordable and they call the taxi for you.

Although the restaurant was empty at dinner it took very long before we got our food. 2 night in the row no creme brulee. But the food is good.

I enjoyed my stay at the Estalar, large comfortable rooms with excellent views and great pool on the roof good enough for doing laps a sauna and steam! as well as a very decent breakfast! The staff are helpful and attentive! It more than earns it four star rating!

The Noise from other rooms. Every neighbor movements was so annoying specially at sleeping time, even using earplugs I was able to hear steps, running water, talk, furniture moving, etc.
Pretty good breakfast, perfect location, comfort and cleanliness were really good. Very nice place to stay while visit Medellin. This was my third time in Medellin and the second hotel from Estelar properties.
