It is the end of summer in Samara. Everything was dry.

The landscaping was spectacular and the grounds were groomed. It was a postcard picture.

Breakfast was the biggest thorn: It didn't open early enough for us, and it wasn't free. They open at 7, but 6:30 would enable an earlier start to the day. Six ideally. And the food offerings themselves proved somewhat of a dud: a number of items which few guests would be interested in. Of those that would, the rather steep $12 charge I didn't find justifiable. I've had better breakfasts that are included with the price of a room. But since they do charge extra, an assortment of fresh pastries (currently non-existent in any form) would be a welcomed and expected addition, as would, say, eggs cooked to order. Mere scrambled or hard-boiled, the usual gallo pinto, dismal meat options, cheap sliced bread and low end yogurt doesn't cut it. The best part about the breakfast is the breakfast room itself.

Nice hotel, clean, well-maintained, with two separate sections, each with its own pool, and each affording a slightly different experience. Beautifully manicured grounds, with abundant foliage and a gated yard in which to park your car. Property is set back from main part of town, yet only a few minutes walk to get to most everything. Bright, pleasant breakfast area, situated on an upper level, with open-air views of the town.

The internet in the bedroom was not the strongest if you had to work on zoom , but I just found a place near the reception to work from.

Brilliant family run hotel. Thank you to all the staff and owners. Peaceful central location. Everything was excellent.

A jewel in the rough as you walk up the gravel hill from the town centre you suddenly become surrounded by lush jungle gardens that envelope you with an immediate escape to paradise!

I can't say anything bad about the Belvedere. The town of Sámara is beautiful and the people are friendly and Costa Rica itself is incredible to visit. If I had to say something bad I would say we picked a very hot and humid time to be here in Costa Rica. But again, nothing bad about the Belvedere it was the jewel of our stay.

The facilities were great. The host was phenomenal. We loved every minute of our stay here. We would highly recommend it to anybody, especially couples.

Being under the breakfast room was slightly noisy in the morning but understandable.

I loved everything about this space. My budget room was small but perfect for my stay. I loved cooling off in the dipping pool before bed each night. Great location … 5 minutes to walk to all restaurants, beach and shops but also not right in the middle of all the late night music etc.

Rooms were perfect and clean! The shower had great pressure and good hot water. The location is very quiet and a very quick easy walk to the beach, bars, and shops. The cool/cold whirlpool was great! The grounds are also kept very nicely. Breakfast was very good

Noise due to work in the garden.

The room was comfortable. Just in front of the pool. Nice little terrace with chairs. The pools were really clean and in the shade most of the time. The staff was really nice. Walking distance to the beach/restaurants/shops Beautiful garden! Really good value for money.

They have a security gate that closes after 6pm. Myself and other guests were locked outside for quite a while. They don't make the access obvious or clear, and no one is there to help the guests! They have to fix that problem.

Hotel Belvedere was a great stay in Samara. We were checked in by one of the sons and he was wonderful, walked us to our room, talked about the amenities available at the property, and was very personable. The room was very well appointed with great a/c and a small seating area we used to play card. We especially liked the fresh ground coffee the next morning. The location is perfect, a short walk to town with a bunch of restaurants within 5 minutes. Think it was an 8-minute walk to the beach. Far enough away to be quiet, but close enough that walking was feasible.

Access to an ice machine would have been appreciated.

Very well maintained facility. Pool was a little oasis surrounded by well maintained vegetation providing a lush and private environment. Samara is small community with a nice vibe and the hotel is a short walk to the beach, restaurants and downtown. Beach chairs and umbrellas were provided for guest use which was very nice!

There was some construction going on in an area next to my room. I'm an early riser so I really wasn't bothered and the noise was minimal.

I was surprised to get a small cottage next to the main 2 story building. I had my own bungalow with great sitting area in front with a view of the pool.

The pillows were great, but the bed was not the comfiest.

The rooms are huge, beautiful and very clean with a nice little balcony overlooking a lovely garden surrounding the pool. Very quiet area with great proximity to restaurants and the beach. Very friendly and helpful staff!

Free use of beach chairs and umbrellas. Like the location being two blocks off the main section of town. Very walk able to the restaurants and shops and beach. Two nice pools. They offer a very nice breakfast at a reasonable additional cost.

Everything is TOP! And they have a real emergency call if you are in trouble ! Staff very kind and efficient! Need a breakfast as in Europe ? The place to stay!
