Really nice vibe here. Lovely owners and homey feel. Felt like a big share house! Facilities were great (except one bathroom for 10 ppl). Great quiet location.

-The price. The place is good, but seen/to justify the price (by far the highest for a dorm bed in 11 months of travel) I would suggest to at least invest in the beds: more comfortable massive (bunk) beds with curtains or maybe single beds (space enough), but maybe they will invest in that later (they opened quite recently) + accessibility to more toilets/bathrooms (e.g. ‘freedom’/possibility of use of bathroom downstairs) + enable creditcard payment (only cash payment now) to name some suggestions

-Very spacious dorm with fans and airco at night + lockers for valuables -Pretty basic bunkbeds with little shelf + socket next to it -Decent bathroom in the dorm with lukewarm shower (ok seen the climate there). Bathroom downstairs is for other people’s use -WiFi worked well (also in the dorm) -Restaurants, shops, beach and bus stop to Liberia within walking distance (5-10 minutes) -Nice outside area -Free coffee -Check out at 11:00 -Very helpful + friendly owner

Mai Ke Kai quickly became a home from home for me. I loved my stay at BY FAR my favourite hostel in Tamarindo (having stayed in a few). The team here are wonderful and it has everything you need to enjoy a relaxed stay in town. Thanks so much team, I'll definitely be back!

The dorm was pretty spacious and each bunk had lockers. The facilities are really nice and the staff it's very friendly. It was the perfect place to work since it's a small hostel with not many people so it's usually quite. One of the best hostel I've ever been! I had so much fun with Pavones (the cat) 🐈.

Very little. If I’m picky there was an event going on next door on my second night which was pretty noisy but nothing the hostel could control. There was only one bathroom for 8 people so there could be a short queue at times.

Nice airy hostel. I stayed in the 8 bed dorm. There was plenty of space around each bunk bed, a fan and AC and a cabinet each to lock with key. Although a small hostel there was ample communal space in the front ( large sofa,table) and on the balcony plus some work out space. Kitchen was clean and well equipped with new pans etc. Staff were really welcoming and super helpful going the extra mile. Location was great. Quiet time 10pm to 7am and not a party hostel which is what I wanted. Very well run and friendly.

Staff was great and really helpful. Tamarindo can be quite touristy but this house feels more like a home. It is very quiet even though right in the city centre. Would recommend 100%

There was one big room for the 10 beds so many people in one room. The individual bed had no curtains to cover. One bathroom for the 10 guest in the room may be difficult to take bathroom if someone is using it

The location is centric and close to the main street where the restaurants, bars and markets are located. Great staff service and answered all questions that I had. Clean property and well conserved. They had kitchen to cook your meals. AC in the room.

The beds didn’t have curtains. There was not much of an atmosphere with other travelers and it was a bit removed from the beach and other activities

Such a cute and relaxing hostel. Huge outdoor space for yoga and nice kitchen with good appliances. Free coffee each morning!

WOW, this place was amazing. I've never stayed in a shared room at a hostel before, so I was a bit on the edge about it, but everything went great! Matthias and Maria was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The house is great, very good location, is has everything that you need. Matthias is a great surf teacher as well, I've taken on a new hobby thanks to him.

Great location -- center of town, but on a quiet part of the street. The best surf lessons with Mattia, the in-house instructor, for a very fair rate. And they helped organize a wonderful turtle outing where we got to see a green pacific turtle laying her eggs on the beach.
