Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

I like the breakfast, seem to be an authentic one. Also, I like the staff’s generosity. Initially we booked 4 days non-refundable, but because of plan change, we were only be able to stay in the first 2 nights. Though we can’t get refund, they are willing to upgrade our room and provide us breakfast, which we are appreciative.

GermanyThin walls and therefore very poorly soundproofed . You would have to hope to have quiet neighbors.
Great hotel, very good located, very close to the center, good pool area, friendly staff. The rooms are very comfortable, there was a small fridge, comfortable beds. Great value for money.

IrelandWe were at the end of April which is normally the end of dry season. The garden was green but if it was me, I would pay more attention to removing dry leaves in the houses part. Water in the swimming pool looked funny. There are lots of palms around and the flowers were loosing small bits of staff which you could find in the swimming pool. They cleaned the swimming pool for sure but I am not sure how often the water was changed. Three flower pots with dead plants by the reception area (left side as you enter the premises). It is always more welcoming when there are plants, colourful flowers. Especially in Costa Rica.
Location. Close to city yet the noise of busy pubs (some nights only) don't interfere with your sleep. My husband got a travel bug and had to go to the chemist's. It is literally in the shopping centre opposite the hotel. It was very handy. Breakfast. Choice was good (in La Fortuna and Santa Elena, Monteverde we were served rice with beans and eggs everyday, no other options. They were also 3 star accommodations). We had omelette and Mediterranean burrito twice. Early breakfast. We had to take 7.00 am bus as we were travelling back to San Jose to catch a flight. They were kind to serve us breakfast before the normal serving time (7am). In Monteverde we were refused that. Thank you again to a lovely lady who preps the food. We stayed there for 5 nights and didn't get bored by breakfast. Haven't tried all the options as the previous ones were too good to switch to American breakfast (toast and egg) for instance. Staff. Friendly, approachable, English spoken. Hammock. Each room had a little veranda with a hammock. Houses are in shade so it was lovely to use hammocks now and then.

United States of AmericaBecause the location of the hotel is very close to all amenities, the nightlife noise, and live music was quite loud. The room decor is a little dated.
The staff was excellent. They went over and above to make our stay exactly what we wanted it to be. They helped book excursions and made recommendations. Diego woke early on our departure day to serve us fruit and yogurt to go and coffee! The breakfast inclusion in the room rate was 100% worth it, as the food was great. The location was wonderful for walking to restaurants, grocery, bank and beach! We had monkey and other wonderful critter encounters at the hotel. The pool was well maintained and refreshing each day.

CanadaA bit of noise at night from neighbouring bars but the air conditioning drowns out some of the noise.
Breakfast was great. Good selection and fresh. Although in town it felt tucked away in its own little oasis. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

United KingdomRequires a little maintenance in the rooms but for the location and price it is worth a stay and the beds are comfortable with air con and WiFi.
Nice outlay with the pool. Staff are friendly enough and the little Dog Fred at the reception is adorable. It’s a stones thrown from the main strip and beach. The price was right for 3 people in the centre of Taramindo.

United KingdomService was a bit lacklustre. $13 for a cocktail trumped the rest of our trip. Bit greedy really. Nice place...BUT ...it's now in the early stages of being a bit 'tired'. Needs a refresh. Yes....that will mean money! Our room had a broken blind. Lick of paint, that sort of thing. If you're taking around $250 a night, it should be immaculate. It wasnt.
Lovely setting. Air con. Saw some great animals around!

AlbaniaThe bathroom floor tiles were damaged and a piece of wood was installed instead which looked bad and was a source of mosquitos to come in the room. Sleeping mat had a top layer probably to make it feel more comfortable, but it added extra heat to the body during sleeping so not the best idea.
Very close to the beach and bars and restaurants. It has private lodge and a lot of trees.

CanadaInitial room had a toilet that would not flush and the hotel was fully booked. We were told they could move us to another room the next day and leave the doors to the toilets unlocked in the bar/restaurant for our use through the night. Initially the staff believed that we had flushed toilet paper- a no no in CostaRica and other countries on septic systems - but could not get it unplugged or flushing. After moving to another room and seeing a newer toilet - and in the public bathrooms also having low water flush - went and took a look and found that the old American Standard was not getting enough water in the tank to finish the flush. Adjusted the intake valve and good to go. This caused a slight reduction in points awarded for the hotel but the owner refunded the charges for the night.
Great location in the heart of Tamarindo and a couple of blocks to the beach yet quiet and peaceful. Great made to order breakfast included in rate and 20% coupon to OCEAN restaurant- on the beach and great seafood - that is owned by the owner of the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

United States of AmericaA few things overlooked in the suite, absolutely nowhere to hang your towels in the bathroom, no tea towels, paper towel, toaster or microwave in the kitchen.
Very clean and centrally located. Excellent staff. Everyone we encountered that worked there was greats. We stayed in the suite. It was very private and comfortable with resident howler monkeys.

United KingdomExpensive. Blank 'restaurant' staff. Complimentary breakfast was a piece of toast, if available. Purchased breakfast was granular grey scrambled egg, unappetising and expensive. Meagre compared to all other hotels we stayed at. Even happy hour cocktails were expensive. The lack of service, and profiteering, did spoil things for us a bit.
Lovely exotic poolside, quiet in November. Accommodation quite secluded on the edge of grounds.
