We arrived at the hotel at about 9:30 pm. The street was dark and we missed the hotel. We had to turn around and come back. The person who greeted us at the door was very friendly and pleasant. He gave us a good overview of the layout of the hotel. He guided us to our room.

The room rent included breakfast which was served in the restaurant near the main entrance. The breakfast was good; the coffee was good. The best part was the birds in the garden. You could hear them starting sunrise. My wife took a lot of pictures. There was a group of photographers who also took a lot of pictures.

We chose this hotel to be closer to the airport as we were flying the next day. The complimentary airport shuttle was very much appreciated. Staff at this family-run hotel was very welcoming. The grounds at the hotel were beautifully landscaped with many varieties of birds around.

Close proximity to the airport, excellent shuttle service ;comfortable and relatively quiet and had a lot of birds including an Owl Protectorate. Fellow guests saw a Pygmy owl ( I missed it unfortunately)

My room was the furthest away from the main entrance. With slight knee issues was difficult to go up and down. I was told the hotel was full and no closer rooms however I did not see them check before they answered me.

Was pretty good. Had to seat myself and get napkin and utensils. No one attended to me.

I am a bird watcher and the head groundsman was very helpful in showing me a tiny owl.

The airport shuttle took a while, had to wait for about 30/45min for pick up.

The dinner and breakfast were amazing! Also loved how friendly the staff was. The property grounds were beautiful as well.

Have to expect some airport rumbles

Great location for airport and for visiting the former capital of Alajuela (well worth it). Lovely small pool area and separate restaurant area with good food. Great to have an owner who cares about birds and who goes out of his way to attract birds to the sizeable garden. Regular haunt for birdwatchers on their way in or out of Costa Rica with free (morning) airport shuttle.

So grateful for the airport pickup and departure ride. This hotel is exceptional in all ways. Meals were fabulous and wait staff was so prompt and helpful. Owners we met were so kind and rightfully proud of the facility.

The only thing which they can't help since they are so close to the airport is the occasional loud airplane.

This is so close to the airport, but they have managed to create an oasis in the urban area where it is located. Breakfast was included and it was very good with fresh fruit and a choice of eggs with rice and beans or pancakes with an egg. They offer a free airport shuttle that we used both times we stayed here which was very convenient. We also had dinner both times we stayed which was delicious! We especially loved the property which has many trees and flowers drawing a variety of birds including a Squirrel Cuckoo, Great Kiskadees, Spot-breasted Oriole, Blue-gray tanagers, White-winged and Inca Doves. They also have nesting boxes for Pygmy Owls but we didn't get to see them. It was enjoyable to walk around and birdwatch. Emanuel is knowledgeable about birds and he gives birding tours which we didn't have time to do, but we wished we could have fit that in. We would definitely come back!

The shower head could use replacing but pressure was good. The temperature control was very sensitive but we had hot showers. The restaurant was a bit expensive for dinner.

It was very close to the airport, 10 min away or less. It was quiet. They had a free shuttle for pickup and drop off at the airport. They had a restaurant on site. There was a pool. We left early before breakfast started so they made us a to go bag with sandwich, apple, and juice.

The water pressure for the toilets was too low, so multiple flushes were needed.

The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very kind and the food (breakfast included, lunch/dinner not included) was simple, plentiful and delicious.
