Maybe it's worth diversifying your breakfast a bit. The external elevator probably requires the intervention of a maintenance guy.

I travel a lot, and sometimes, when staying in a hotel, I wonder what else could increase customer satisfaction. There can always be something more, such as swimming dolphins in the pool or French champagne for breakfast instead of Cava or Prosecco, and then you realize that comfort and luxury must have certain limitations due to financial availability. And here, Columbia Beach Resort has, in my opinion, achieved the perfect equation, bringing the resort to the highest possible standard in every respect while leaving the price reasonable. I rarely give 10 ratings, but in this case, the hotel really deserves it!

The area is super quiet- great for us but if you are looking for something lively this isn't the place. We had a car which was great to see other areas. The hotel prices for drinks are high compared to the rest of the island.

Lovely big room and bathroom. Beautiful view of the sea. Staff were attententive and helpful. Big pools and facilities. The gardens were well kept and beautiful. Good spa and access to gym and a room for pilates/ yoga etc.

Breakfast was a little chaotic on a couple of days with orders getting forgotten or mixed up, but we raised this with the staff who were very apologetic and took immediate action to fix their operations. It was very early in the season (they'd opened early due to good weather) so I imagine there was some warming in to be done. The quality of food in the Cape Aspro restaurant and pool bar and could go up a notch. My wife ordered a chicken wrap for 19eur and it came with processed chicken... and the spaghetti bolognese was made with Asian egg noodles and not pasta which is kind of strange. The pizzas are ok but could be better.

The pool and hotel are stunning. It has character, the plants are grown-in, the birds sing beautifully and dip and dive over the pool. The grounds are immaculate and the rooms are very comfortable and are cleaned to a high standard. The staff go over and above, and are quick to course correct and compensate if something doesn't quite go to plan. The spa is great with an indoor heated pool and treatments are done to a high standard. The Tavern restaurant is amazing, it has high quality ingredients and cooking and a great atmosphere (a little like a Mediterranean town square with live music and children playing quietly). It somewhere you can get dressed up and feels like an occasion. Breakfast is great with lots of options and it's peaceful sitting next to the pool in the shade over a morning coffee. The other restaurants are good too, a little more casual and have many options. There's a great hike just down the beach and up on the hills with stunning vantage points for viewing across the bay. It's close to Pissouri which is an old village with lots of great quality restaurant options. Try The Bunch of Grapes (We went here many times) and Two Friends if you get chance! We'd definitely stay again.

Nice relaxing long weekend in off season - minor improvements needed

Breakfast was an absolute disaster with the staff running around like headless chickens. Not sure why there is lack of staff in general but when a hotel knows that they are fully booked then they need to make sure they are prepared. Orders were wrong on one day, on another day we waited far too long for our food and generally the buffet is not a 5 star standard. In addition to the lousy breakfast service, it was really a shame that there were zero staff available to order food or drinks down on the grass area - there are sunbeds with tables for guests to use so there really should be food/drink service. There is even a bar down there and yet it was fully closed (the same stack of used glasses were sitting on it for the whole 3 days we were there) so every time we needed something we had to go all the way up to the pool bar to order which was not convenient at all when you have kids. Columbia used to be my favourite hotel on the island but I feel that it has slipped in recent years which is a real shame.

Overall the Columbia is a great hotel with so much potential - it is being held back by minor details that can easily be resolved with more attention to detail and also transparency is needed regarding the main resort and the newer wing that used to be the lesser star beach hotel. These are 2 separate buildings with separate pools, breakfast areas and reception lounges with very different vibes, however it is not clear when booking which building your room is in. I requested the main resort when I booked however they gave us a room in the other building when we arrived - I pointed this out to them and the importance of being close to the spa because of my young baby and they quickly rectified by switching our room to the main original resort. Had they not done this I feel our experience would have been completely different. The grounds of the main resort hotel are unmatched, the garden and pool area are wonderful and the massive grass lawn just before the beach is also lovely to sunbathe on and great for people with kids. Location is great with everything you need within walking distance and the beach is also on your doorstep. Reception staff in both buildings were superb as well as the guys who helped us with our luggage. Indoor pool and spa was ok, less chlorine smell would be a bonus. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and the crib provided by the hotel was also great. We tried the Apollo Tavern for dinner - prices were very high but we found the Meze much better value for money than ordering separate dishes and the food was decent. Generally prices are ridiculously high especially for drinks (6eur for a coffee, 17eur for a gin & tonic!).

The resort is an excellent spot for relaxing and weekend getaways, it has all the facilities you need and even more. It is closed to the beach and hiking spots. It has restaurants, spa and church, The food is bombastic, excellent breakfast and dinner. Totally recommend it if you have the money to enjoy the facilities they offer, the prices are pretty high, but the hotel is luxury 5 star. The pools are big , and they have sports and tennis courts which you can use. The room is big with 1 shower and one bath and has everything. Totally mesmerizing, I’ve really enjoyed my stay.

Currently staying in an executive suite garden view all though this is classed as an upgrade on the west side of the hotel I preferred the sea view room with its view and ocean breeze the garden suite has a big garden area with sunbeds and easy access to the resorts amenities we found it’s quite noisy but in fairness I think this was due to being bank holiday celebrations . All in all a great hotel top of our list and we’ve been coming to Cyprus at least 3 times a year for over 30 years now .

A great hotel with attention to detail and some amazing views (side sea view executive suite) very helpful staff .

The hotel is stunning and unique for Cyprus. This hotel has soul, natural beauty and comfort. Stunning architectural layout - two-story houses and buildings, organized into a small village around a pool-lake. This hotel is simply a paradise for those who are tired of modern cubic anthills. We had a truly wonderful time here and can't wait to go back again.
