To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

LithuaniaHost do not speak English communication was very limited. One set of keys for appartment front door is locked. Despite I gave some tips to owner in the evenings he switched off electricity in whole appartment at 10.10 a.m. hours on departure day despite full buiding was empty and we thought 11.00 is checkout time. I don;t think he value or appreciate his customers too much.
They have swiming pool in the yard which was very nice for such accommodation. Our appartment was good, spacious enough and comfortable for our stay. Restaurant was not operating for day evening meals except breakfast but drinks including tap beer was served which was very good.

AustriaThe only real complaint was that it was brutally hot in the rooms and we could not sleep. No air conditioning, which is normal for central Europe, just doesn't work for Americans. I know it would raise the price a little to have it installed, but being able to sleep through the night would probably be worth it. Wi-Fi was marginal at best.
The hotel was clean, everything worked, and breakfast wasn't bad. Those are the main things. Our rooms had a bedroom, a kitchen area (both of them also had a bed in the kitchen, which was odd, but mostly wasn't a problem), and a private bathroom. There were small refrigerators, which was much appreciated. There was also some balcony space. Check-in was pretty easy. We drove, and there was parking each of the two nights we stayed there. There was a pool and some grassy space, but we didn't really use them, even though they looked decent enough (just didn't have lounging around in our plans). If you're in a car, the location is pretty nice. It's about 15 minutes out of town, but that makes it quiet, which we appreciated.

AustriaI have to strictly don't recommend accommodation in this penzion. To be honest, this was the worsenest experience about accomodation in my live ever. We spent two nights in this pension with my wife and daughter (under 2 years). The reservation was made by our friend in two separate steps so the reservation (via booking) was of two diferent room. We accept responsivity for these mistake. The communication with owner was very hard. At first, my friend tried to communicate merging orders or change of room. Without success. My friend's wedding was the reason of accommodation so I tried comunicate with mr. Kafroň on my own. I asked him for, if he can declare we will alowed to change the rooms in one step. The reaction of mr. Kafroň was very arogant and rude, there was real possibility of our check-out in 10 a.m. and check-in in other room in 2 p.m. On the other hand I understand the conditions, but on the other hand I hoped friendly attitude and polite behavior. Durring the first check in, mr. Kafroň was very rude, didn't answer greeting and try to claim extra-money because of our infant. He exactly said, that information on booking.com "does not apply" and he wants to pay more. I had to listed the connditions of reservation (booking.com), where is listed, that baby under 2 years is free. And I had to argued, that these conditions are binding. After next call of my friend, we were allowed to change rooms sequentially as we were asking for at first. I have to mention, that my friend added some disturbing connotations: after he had made the reservations, the owner tried to bill more money and allegedly threatened him, that he will charge extra money "because he knows my freinds' card" rest of our acomodation was without more experiences but in unopleasent atmosphere I am sad, that our experiences aren't rare. The problem with owner's attitude and behavior are the most frequent complains.

ChinaVery awful experience. I booked one room for one night. the owner give me one suit room. And in the morning when I check out, he charge me additional 30Eur because I used another bed in the living room. But when you in the bedroom there is no Wifi signal so I must move to the living room. The Owner doesn’t know English. and there is no shampoo soap in the hotel.

nothing,i thought we will be relax in this place with my Family thats why i booked, but it’s opposite in my expectations, the host was so rude and unfriendly, at first i thought just because he can’t speak and understand English either German i give him consideration… but how many times we greeted him “good morning “ no response and starring at us feeling he’s not happy that we are there…and he’s always watching us specially he showed us that he checked inside our room,he showed us we are not trusty people.it’s exactly 10 am we almost packed up but still he’s reminding it’s already 10am we need to leave the room.. This is the first time in booking.com we met so rude host .we checked late 7pm to 10am next day… with my 2 children both girls and with my auntie we invited her to be with us Easter celebration.for just overnight this is big mistake i booked this apartment.never ever recommend this place… this is not supposed to be in booking. com why? because they can’t understand English neither German and the host is friendly to their own people , I am an asian-Austrian citizen ,i felt the owner is discriminating people,the owner is just friendly to the locals.
