Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe double bed was two beds pushed together and they can drift apart a bit during the night. Curtains are heavy but cannot avoid some light to enter in the morning. The TV is undersized for the room but who watches a lot of TV in a nice city like Kiel? :)
Great location: very close to the main station and the ferry terminal to Sweden. The room was very spacious almost as large as an apartment. The windows were huge and nice for daylight, maybe a bit tricky for sleepers who want complete darkness. The bathroom was nice and had everything we needed. The shower curtain looked a bit old. Cleanliness was good.

GermanyThe furniture, the walls, the toilet and bathroom facilities are all old at least in the room we were provided. It looks like the hotel rooms are undergoing a renovation and while some of the rooms are fitted with the modern equipment, there are some which still have everything from the 1980-s. There was a constant smell of Medikaments in the room and we couldn’t get it away by keeping the windows open the whole day and night.
Location is great, at a proximity to the port area and few steps away from the main shopping street. The panoramic view from the top level corner room was great. Professional and kind staff at reception and in the breakfast restaurant.

GermanyThe room was very simply equipped and the cleanliness was just ok.
The view was fantastic! The small room was not very glamorous but I had a nice stay for one night. If you have very high standards for cleanliness, this may not be place for you, though.

GermanyWhen I arrived, the room was not cleaned, so I had to wait. There was some mold in the shower, and, in general, the furniture was old and shabby. The cleaners were very loud in the morning, so it was hard to sleep well - a do not disturb sign would be helpful.
The breakfast was good, and the hotel's location was perfect: close to the train station and the city center. Nearby there is a supermarket and some shops/cafes. Nice view from the window.

DenmarkThe hotel is a little worn around the edges and the room was small, but everything worked, as it should. Especially considering the price of the hotel room, this is good value for your money.
The hotel is perfectly located right in the center close to the central train station and the Sophienhof shopping mall, right on the pedestrian shopping street and a stone throw from the Wunderino Arena, which was the purpose of my stay, as I was attending a concert there. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast on the 10th floor was excellent with a great view of the city. There was free coffee in the lobby and a large, complementary bottle of sparkling water in the room.

GermanyThe hotel is quite old. There was a terrible smell of smoke in the corridor and in the room. The rooms are not very sound proof and it is quite loud when people close their doors.
The location is excellent. It is close to the train station and the port, if you are to catch a ferry or cruise from Kiel. A very nice breakfast. Good for a one night stay if you are moving on from Kiel.
