We look forward to returning because there is no where better to stay. The personal touch of a family run hotel is priceless. We had excellent recommendations for activities and restraints. The breakfast was varied and enjoyable as well as authentically German. We already have friends booking at stay because it is in the perfect corner of the walled city -- near the cathedral, close to the main square, right at the beautiful garden gate, and in easy walking to excellent dinner options.

Locate at a good and quiet place. The most important is they provide private parking lot which I worried most before visiting. Warmly employees and the owner, feel just like at home.

This is our second visit to the Burg hotel. It was just a special and clean and wonderful as our first visit.

This property was absolutely charming! The town of Rothenburg is like a storybook. We had a family of five, two adults, and three teenagers, and booked a family style room. It turns out that we had our own house, multilevel, just up the road from the main entrance to the hotel. Our doors opened up to a grand backyard of topiary and grass, with a view of the wall and tower beyond. Some of the accommodations were a bit dated, but that was to be expected in this type of older hotel, and we did not mind at all. It was clean, and the washer and dryer were an added bonus to do some laundry before the next leg of our trip. The owners father, Otto, could not have been more delightful, or helpful. He made sure to offer the chance to order breakfast for a reasonable price, and allowed us to stay in the house a little longer while our laundry finished drying. He was a pleasure to speak with. We adored this town, and our piece of the hotel. Also, if you had someone who could not climb the stairs, there was a downstairs bedroom that you could add to your reservation, otherwise it was locked.

The double bed had two single mattress beds attached, which was not very comfortable. Additionally, the shower had a leaky showerhead, and there was no elevator

Exceptional hotel with a friendly staff and great location. We loved our roomy suite which had a terrace that was part of the old wall. The location is excellent just a quick walk outside the bustle of the Christmas markets but close enough to shopping, restaurants, etc. Rothenburg is exquisite and this hotel is a gem. Highly recommend and I can't wait to return.

Beautiful old building, room was spacious, breakfast was great, and staff were all so lovely. Otto made us feel right at home each time we passed through the lobby. The stay was so good we canceled our next hotel and extended our stay a day!

Our family of 5 (kids 11, 16 & 18) stayed in Rothenburg for 2-nights from 24th/25th December. Our accommodation with the Burg Hotel was in their Family Apartment which is situated in a separate building a little stroll from the main Hotel and had its own parking space. The family apartment on the second floor was easily accessed through the lower/ground level which comprised the entrance, a bathroom and laundry (with washing machine and separate dryer), dining and kitchen area from which you could access the back gardens and view of the Rothenburg city wall and turret. The stairs (with a landing on the first floor) led to the very spacious 3-bedrooms, two large bathrooms and a separate second toilet room. The accommodation and its location were very peaceful and quiet. We had everything we needed, slept comfortably and enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing time. Over the days that we stayed, being Christmas, very little was opened in Rothenburg - we planned for this and ensured we brought breakfast items, milk for coffees etc with us. The Burg Hotel happily provided some names of restaurants that might be open over the Christmas days. So, months in advance, we were able to book dinner for the 25th at Hotel & Restaurant Reichskuchenmeister, but finding somewhere for the 24th wasn't looking good. We were absolutely delighted when the Burg Hotel reached out several weeks before our stay to advise of a Christmas dinner and entertainment they would be hosting in conjunction with an adjacent hotel - which we reserved right away - it was wonderful. We loved walking the cobbled streets of Rothenburg, admiring the beautiful buildings, glittering with Christmas lights. With the Christmas Markets having finished on the 23rd and not a lot open, there weren't many people about (not the crowds that you read about anyway) which made for a pleasant stay. We walked the city walls - for all that can be walked and saw all of Rothenburg old town. Such a lovely...

Parking was a bit of a pain.
