Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomInitially, we were stranded in our attempt to check in online as there were no staff on site and we did not have WiFi on our phone due to not been based in Germany. However, we are really blessed by a fellow lodger in the hotel who was like an angel. He shared his WiFi with us and guided us on how to check in online and get the door to our room opened. The phone number provided by the Hotel was not going through.
We had a good night rest. We checked in late on the night but the staff were kind enough to allow us extra time to check out the following day.

GermanyIt is right in the red-light district. So, if you are sensitive to noise, or being accosted to "come and have a look" every 10 yards, this may not be for you. That said, the hotel itself did not appear seedy and was clean and comfortable. On the plus side, there is food available pretty much around the clock, with a McDonalds and a Burger King close to the hotel and probably open 24 hours.
Cheap, comfortable, easy access via phone code to unlock the doors, so no contact with any staff. Good value, and very central.

Czech RepublicNot much space at room for luggage, paid parking in front of the hotel. But the price is relevant for this room. I can recommend it, price corresponds to the quality.
Destination, many bars and restaurants around. Keyless access - anytime, comfortable beds, nice paintings, very clean room. Friendly price.

United States of AmericaWe stayed in the summer and the room got very hot. With the windows open it got a bit noisy, but if you don't mind this it shouldn't be a problem.
Location is top notch for those wanting to go out. It's right in the middle of Reeperbahn and there are several nice restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Unlocking the building and room doors felt very high tech-- everything can be unlocked on online through a link sent to your email upon check-in. Physical cards are also available just in case.

United KingdomWe were a little surprised to find that the hotel was in the red light district of Hamburg and was therefore a little seedy. The hotel was also a long walk from the railway station.
On the doorstep of the hotel was a food market with a large variety of stall including one selling vegan sausages. This was a nice place to have a drink and eat. There is a nice walk along the harbour to the centre of the city.

GermanyIn our room 37 the window was not closing till the end. We experienced draught and had to sleep covering our heads with pillows because it was also very loud outside. And we could not get help from the staff as it was a public holiday.
The room was very clean. The location is good as it is close to the city center but the street is very loud. Please consider it if you go to sleep earlier than 3 a.m.

SpainThe hotel is in a super noisy street and you hear what's going on in the other rooms. The entrance is quite scary if you are going with kids...
If you want a place to sleep one night because you are visiting the city with your friends, this hotel is good. It's in the main street of st. Pauli, in 10 minutes you are in the centre of the city... It's clean and simple but good for one night.
