Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

LuxembourgWould have loved to have had a kettle and teabags in the room!
Lovely room, great for my sister and I as two mattresses and two quilts although stated as a double room. Location was perfect and the fact that as it was March parking was free everywhere. Breakfast was perfect.

CanadaPillows, warm and noisy rooms (on the main floor). No coffee machine, kettle in the room. Some of the staff were quite rude to us - but having travelled a lot in Germany we know from experience that if you don’t speak German, they are known to not be the friendliest…. It is too bad. The basic double rooms are located on the main floor and are located right on the street so we did not sleep well for our two nights due to the noise and the fact that rooms were very warm. At least there was a fan in the room which helped a bit.
The building and environment were amazing! An old traditional well maintained German building. The breakfast and dinner (food in general was great!). The rooms are spacious but basic for a 4 star. Location is amazing; right in the heart of Bernkastel! The hotel also provides (on request) a 3 day parking pass for 12 euros at the public parking by the water and close to the hotel. Ask for it to take advantage of that. Our waitress, Aye, during dinner on our first night was amazing.

United KingdomThe restaurant and bar closed promptly at 14:30 for lunch and at 22:00 in the evening, even for hotel guests. This would be understandable if when the restaurant closed, the bar stayed open a little longer as it is sometimes nice to have a nightcap to round off the day. Have stayed here several times before and will definitely stay here again.
The staff, the breakfast/restaurant food and all facilities were all excellent. Loved the old charm of the building and the courtyard was a nice cool place to have a meal when the weather is hot. Our room was spacious and clean with a brilliant walk in shower.

United KingdomThe hotel is in a pedestrian zone so you cannot get the car near to the entrance to unload.
This is a beautiful historic building in the middle of a lovely town. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. We ate in the hotel restaurant which was good and breakfast was fine too. Private parking is about 100m from hotel and useful. All good value for mmoney.

United States of AmericaBecause this is an old village, parking is at a minimum and this hotel required that we use paid parking. But they do offer a 3-day parking pass for $12 US. That is a bargain in order to stay in the atmospheric location.
This place on the Mosel River is what you would imagine a German hotel in one of the villages would look like. It had old rafters that went up to the roof. Entry to the hotel was through the restaurant into a courtyard. The building was started around 1650 generally. Since we were there for Christmas market, everything was decorated brilliantly. The welcome was efficient and the property was spotless and well run. Breakfast was excellent. It was a German breakfast with meat, cheese, vegetables, fruit, jams and breads. But there was the addition of scrambled eggs and bacon. We loved this as we missed bacon and eggs. We love Mosel wine, so that was a plus. Overall, a great place to stay.
