Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyIt was a bit noisy, as my room was facing the street. It would be nice to have a Coffee Maschine in the room. Besides liquid soap there is mothing else offered, no body lotion or Desinfektion..
The room was spacious and with the garage which could be usw by guest made it very comfortable. The breakfast offensichtlich a wider range of plates.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaThe value for money is not adequate; the room is quite expensive for the average quality provided. We were accommodated in a Deluxe room, but the bathroom was old and not renovated. Despite requesting a room change, there were no available units. The shower cabin doors cannot fully close, so the bathroom literally floods during showers. Also, we encountered an issue with closing the windows; we had to call the reception for someone to come and close the window for us. Throughout the entire hotel, there is a noticeable smell of food and cooking.
The location is great, right next to the elevator that leads to the upper old town, The staff is friendly, and they tried to accommodate all of our requests. The room is quite spacious.

United KingdomThe receptionist wasn't unfriendly but well, a bit perfunctory. I wanted to stay one extra night but their answer was 'sorry no we're full' that's all. Wasn't particularly impressed
The room, the breakfast were good.

United States of AmericaOn weekend evenings, the parking garage can become very crowded, necessitating an extended search for a parking space. But there is another underground garage two or three blocks away.
The location is excellent, in the heart of Marburg and walking distance through the entire old town.

SwitzerlandI personally do not like carpets in the hotel. Furthermore I do not like animals in the hotel rooms and then there was one guest bringing his dog even to the breakfast room. It is not the dog's fault...
The rooms are clean and staffed with all what is needed. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a big choice. The location is great just in the opposite of the elevator which brings you up to the historic city.

United States of AmericaThe shower - it was small, it leaked and it had exposed hot and cold water pipes, the hot water pipe got very very hot and when I touched it I burned my fingers a few times (and because the shower was very small, I touched the pipe by accident a few times even while trying to avoid it). Other than the shower, the hotel is great.
Location is great. Parking is easy (but no free parking, and have to pay every time you go out). Room is a great size and convenient (there is a desk to work on).

United KingdomWe have been in quite a few German hotels recently and this was on the pricey side.
The hotel is excellently situated, very near to the old town and within walking distance of the station. The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast room is very nice and there was a good selection.

United States of AmericaI booked a room looking out tongue garden for extra money but this faced the roof with a noise channel to a very busy street, so not so good value for money as I hoped. Have stayed here several times, overall a decent hotel.

South KoreaAir-conditioner was not worked. Fortunately the weather was not too hot during stay, temperature of some days were over 28C, but we could use only small motor fan. Refrigerator in room had small power, too.
Breakfast was good. But, there was no changes in everyday menu except some fresh fruits. The location was really, really good. In front of the hotel, there were elevators with direct access from basement to old town on the hill. Within 15 minutes, almost every spots could be reached. If you have an idea with walking trip in Marburg, this can be very useful solution.

United States of AmericaThe shower was one of those tiny corner/rounded units which was incredibly small. I kept slamming my arms into the sides while trying to wash my hair. Staff were mostly unwelcoming, with a couple of exceptions. Had no flexibility for an earlier check-in. Of course, there are check-in times for a reason but every other hotel I’ve stayed in, after an overnight flight to Europe, has made an attempt to find us a room, or let us know when one was finished with cleaning. Staff kept repeating ‘check in time is 3 pm’ without even trying.
Breakfast buffet was extensive and good. Location was excellent. The elevator to the old city was right across from the hotel.

United States of AmericaThe price was a little high. We have stayed in a number of comparable hotels throughout Germany at a lower price point.
It was close to all the sights in Marburg and the staff were very friendly. There was parking underneath the hotel. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The price seemed a little high for the location, but overall it was a great hotel.
