A huge building without soul. It was boiling in the rooms, no aircondition. Room so small, like a mousehole. No drinks in the automats. No friendly staff. No benches in the garden.

Bathroom smelled. Towels smelled. The shower glass enclosure leaked water all over the place. The offered hair/body wash gel smelled moldy. We informed the hotel in our booking that we’re two adults. Still they supplied one towel and one tiny complimentary bottle of drinking water. The pillows were so thin they offered no support. We were calling the front desk several times for various reasons but nobody was picking up. This is one overpriced 2-star hotel.

It is a large hotel, so anyone with mobility issues should request a room that is closer to reception. Some rooms are quite a walk from the entrance, but some are closer…request. My room didn’t have a mini fridge but the executive double rooms did. But, I didn’t request a room with a fridge, you can. One thing I found not-great was the step into and especially out of the shower. There is no grab bar, and it’s a little slippery stepping into and especially out of the shower. I requested a non-slip shower mat which was delivered to my room promptly and solved the situation. The larger rooms have full baths with showers, and this may be less of an issue in those rooms (although I’m a fan of something to grab onto when stepping in and out…there may be ‘accessible rooms’ that have this handled, I don’t know). Oh, my shower ALWAYS got the floor outside the shower wet, no matter how I tried to direct the shower head. My friend didn’t have this problem, I don’t know what the difference could be. Minor details, overall the hotel is excellent.

The rooms were exceptionally large, clean, and attractive, the breakfast buffet is extensive and has much to please even the fussiest eater, and the outdoor terrace area where you can eat breakfast or sit has a stunning view of St Michael’s monastery. Staff is responsive and at the desk 24/7. Property is well maintained with beautiful roses in season. Rooms have a large enough desk surface to get work done on your laptop comfortably. There is a lift. Large windows. The interior is very attractive, and the bar just off the reception area is a nice place to gather later in the evening. I booked them for the conference facility, which was professional and a great atmosphere for business meetings. There are places to sit and converse in the reception area as well as on the terrace. This is a quality property and well up to modern standards. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. It is also a short walk to the bars and restaurants near the Dom and Schlenkerla, but enough distance that you don’t hear the nightlife at all.

The room itself was really tiny, worn out, the bed wasn't comfortable at all, I could hear the music that was playing in the common hall, outside the room, the shower leaked the water to the bathroom floor. All in all, for this amount of money, it was a really disappointing experience. As an icing on the cake, our neighbor for some reason decided that he can hold the lift until all his family members will come from the room, for 15-20 minutes, actually. And after waiting for some time downside, we decided to walk up the stairs with luggage and found out that he was just holding the lift on our floor.

Breakfast was the best part of all stay, it was really tasty. The location is also a perfect one. And the hotel itself looks fantastic from outside.

Dusty furniture and bed. Aged carpet looks dirty and disgusting. There was a sanitary napkin in the bathroom trash bin from a previous guest. However, all listed above didn’t ruin the stay.

Perfect location for walking lovers. Excellent breakfast, fresh croissants, good choice of cheeses, good tea and mineral water. Atmosphere of the place is fantastic. Executive room is spacious enough and well designed.

No air conditioning in the rooms. Rooms next to the road are Very loud from cars and mopeds all night, and the stone retaining wall across the little road reflects double the sound back at you. Room so hot that you need to open the windows at night, but then it’s like sleeping on the racetrack for noise. Even with windows open, there’s nowhere for the air to go, so you must prop the door to the hall open for airflow and just hope nobody walks into your room. Overall not even close to the value for the relatively high nightly price.

The location was outstanding, you are right in the middle of everything you want to see and do in Bamberg while still being quiet and historical.

Room was tiny and cannot open two luggages at the same time. WiFi password did not work. No staff to help with luggages, self service in most instances.

Quite an old property, impressive facade but run down interiors. Location is good and convenient. Has ample parking.
