Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe bedroom was at the back of the apartment, along the street, which was very noisy at night (dog barking, people shouting).
The staff was extremely nice and the courtyard was very cosy and calm. The food for dinner was of excellent quality.

CanadaBad start. The reception guy, seems to be main caretaker at hotel, confirmed the booking price with me than when I paid by VISA he tried to scalp me 3000 pesos ($75 cad). If I had not have checked the receipt, I would have been scalped. Guy did not provide receipt. Took full date and 3 requests to get a receipt. Previous Italian owned hotel in Romana did not provide receipt and I overlooked that. After we returned home, Booking contacts me and said the hotel advised we were a no show. Obviously to get our Visa booking in addition to the cash I paid for room. Fortunately I had pictures and a dedicated taxi who took us to, and picked us up from hotel. Do not trust Italian hotels now. Get a receipt and protect it!!!!!
As the reviews indicated, excellent location. Good bodega across the street, 5 minutes from public beach, Western Union, car rental , seafood vender 3 minutes. The big supermercado and 2 smaller also 5 minutes away walking. The kitchen was good. We bought 2 kg thumb sized Samana shrimp, 1600 pesos. Ate shrimp and fresh salad for all 5 nights. Excellent!!! Very nice well kept hotel with beautiful trees/foilage.

United States of AmericaThe AC was old, but honestly, in concert with the fan it did the job. The bathtub drain was a bit slow, but we forgot to tell the staff.
Great free breakfast. Fresh fruit, some local sweet breads and coffee were decent enough to start the day. Option to get hot items at a low cost is available from the restaurant. The owner was very nice, as others had mentioned. Let us park in the lot for a few hours after checking out, at no extra charge, while we returned from the Saona Island excursion. Very nice gesture and what hospitality is about. Good location and only 5 minutes on foot from where all the excursions depart.

SerbiaThe place is clean and in a very good shape. Its near the port and the beaches, restaurants but quit. Good place to start your trip to isla Saona. The host Cristian is very helpful and a nice, approachable guy. The room and bathroom are huge, beds comfortable and TV, wifi work great. AC works well as well. Theres a balcony available to use. Its a good place to stay for a longer stay, we would book it again.

United States of AmericaBe prepared for music/noise at night. Wasn’t too bad, but if you’re looking for a very quiet spot this isn’t for you. Earplugs work great.
Friendly, great value, comfortable, great location for our scuba activities.

SloveniaThe location is perfect, 5min walk to the centre where you can get a boat to the island of Saona, few minutes to the restaurants and bars (very loud in the evening) in the centre and 15min walk to the local beach - which is ok to sunbath and swim. Room is simple with fridge, table and coffeemaker. It is clean, beds are perfect for sleep (but bring the earplugs, because the cocks in the village start to sing very early in the morning). The host is great, she speaks only spanish, but we managed to understand each other anyway. She makes breakfast with coffe, fruit and cookies. There is safe free parking in the fenced yard. Perfect for 1-3 night stay in Bayahibe.

GermanyThe apartment was nice. We were on the first floor and there was always a breeze which was very nice. The air condition in the bedroom worked well. We had a fan in the den. We stayed here for 10 nights and loved it being close to several restaurants. We had a rental car to explore also the surrounding area. The Hotel is fenced and you can park the car inside. Bayahibe is a very neat little town with lots of bars and restaurants. We loved it.

ArgentinaThere was music almost all night long in the streets. Anyway, it appears to be a Dominican culture thing that the hotel can't really do anything about it. They will sell you a trip to Saona quite more expensive compared to if you buy it on the beach...
The staff was nice and the rooms were ok. Great shower as well.

United States of AmericaThe unit was dated and while advertised with a kitchenette, it wasn't stocked with enough kitchen utensils to actually do any cooking in the unit.
We enjoyed the location which was easy walking distance into town, the beach, and good restaurants. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The facility was comfortable with good parking and it felt very secure. The unit we rented was dated and could be fantastic with an upgrade. I am not sure if the other units were upgraded or not.

This hotel was a beautiful surprise! Our room was spacious, it also had a small kitchen and a balcony. The whole area was clean and really nice. We arrived before the check-in hour, and the room was already prepared and we could put up immediately.

Great value for money, absolutely clean, very nice garden, amazing staff and owner, they are really nice people, helps you in everything. There is cleaning service and clean towels every day! Nice breakfast with fruits and coffee. Very good location, nice village, absolutely safe! You can experience here the real Dominican lifestyle, you can see how the locals live their days in Bayahibe. Public beach is approx 10 minutes walk, the port is 3 minutes walk with lots of nice bars and restaurants, great sunset spot (also starting point of Saona trips). Supermarket is very close! If you need hairdryer or some kitchen equipment, just ask at the reception :)! They even prepared a surprise for my Birthday because my parents contacted them to ask their support. This was so nice :)!
