We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

Very clean. Good communication via what’s-ap. Heater in the room worked well. Bathrooms were well equipped. Absolutely stunning views of the river and surrounding area.

SpainI didn't like the fact they didn't inform that the pet would have an extra cost until the very last minute. I also didn't like being on the top floor, on a very steep uphill location (but that's just a matter of luck) I hated that, while my dog had to pay extra to stay, he didn't make noise, bark, or get anything dirty, while I was constantly woken up by other guests slamming doors as if they didn't have handles.... how much more where those guests charged? I also didn't enjoy that checkin hours were after pilgrim's arrival time in town.... especially, when there's nobody to receive us anyways...
It was a big bright room, everything was very clean and tidy: bathroom, kitchen, room, linen and they put a blanket on the floor for my furry friend + some water :)

United States of AmericaThe showers do not drain well, and resulted in flooding. The manager did respond quickly to mop everything up though. The dryer didn’t seem to work properly and kept cutting off and on. Lastly, the mattresses need to be replaced. They were among the poorest we’ve slept on during the Camino trek. While I didn’t use the manual wash area, there seems to be an ant problem there in the basement. There were about a thousand ants on the sink that came out of the wall.
The view was amazing. The property owner has developed videos to make accessing the room a breeze. When I sent a text to inquire about the washing machine, a text came immediately showing me where it is and how to use it.

CanadaI loved my stay at the Albergue Aqua Portomarin. It all began before I even arrived in town. The night before, Fanny sent me detailed information and a video on how to self check-in upon arrival. So when I got, everything was super easy and I was able to let myself inside the building, grab the key to my room, and just climb the stairs to reach it. Later, we completed the check-in process with one of her colleagues. He was super friendly and answered all my questions. I wish it was always this easy on the Camino de Santiago. I booked one of the double rooms on the top floor. It was spacious and had a skylight. The bed was comfy and there was plenty of space for all of my stuff. There was also a ventilator. The shared bathrooms were clean. Wifi worked well throughout the building. A great place to stay for anyone walking the Camino de Santiago.
