We booked a superior room with big windows and a view . We got a room with a tiny window. When I went to complain the staff was very unfriendly and it took a lot of fighting to be moved into another room still no view carpets stained , furniture chipped but st least it had windows. Also a tour bus was parked across the entrance without a driver so we could not get out . Reception eventually found the driver after 25 minutes no apologies from anyone.

Since last visit under new ownership and no lift to reception from underground car park and the walk from the new outside lift extremely difficult for me as I have a heart problem. Did not enjoy one of the courses at dinner snd found the music very annoying. Our room at back was noisy - sounded like a fan going. No instructions for coffee machine - despite 2 attempts couldn’t get it to work.

Staff in reception and restaurant very friendly and helpful. Extra large bed - very comfortable.

Young man at the desk was totally negative. The morning we left, there was a smiling young woman. Too bad she wasn’t there when we arrived. The room was very small with a slanted ceiling. The walls were bare. The young man would not accept a Dutch driver’s license with a foto. He demanded a passport.it was the only hotel that did not accept a driver’s license. If that is so, why not include it in the description. No! I would never go back to this hotel!

Big, anonymous hotel. Some of the staff did not really make you feel welcome. Check-in slow and so many rules. Wellness and gym cost extra even though they advertise those facilities in their Booking description.

A very comfortable 4* hotel. The staff are kind, helpful and considerate. The hotel is lovely and comfortable. The pool is amazing. We didn't try the spa or gym but I feel that they would have been superb as well. The hotel was picturesque but with all modern requirements. Situated in the middle of Durango, it is well positioned to explore the town on foot and is also minutes to a beach by car.

We booked a double room but we were given a twin. Appreciate hotel was full and they could t change it but staff were reluctant to do anything to try and put things right. After much debate we were given one mornings breakfast. Room hadn’t been cleaned by 3.30pm - we were using the room in the afternoon so it didn’t get cleaned we just asked the housekeeper for new towels. Additional charges for gym and breakfast are disappointing in a 4* hotel like this.

Great location for exploring Durango and National Park.

A Hotel that promised a great more than it delivered. Despite being exceptionably warm the pool was empty ...the aircon in the rooms was just passable. The service from some individuals was very good however, others were appalling. You could sit on the terrace and not see staff for ages .... one would appear ...polish a table and then disappear again forcing you to gpo find them....I cannot count the number of times I was shooshed out of the door into the dining room and asked to come in the door adjacent ...into the same room , as the other door was for staff only!! Not that it said that.. Front desk staff were distinctly different. The number of times I had asked for my credit card to be placed on file so I didn't have to pay each time in the restaurant was amazing... still they failed to grasp that. One time I left my US to euro charging adaptor on the front desk..... remembering this I returned to the FD and asked for my adaptor ... the young lady said it wasn't there...I asked if she had a spare... no was the reply... the following morning I returned and asked if it had been handed in from the front desk. Same girls said no ...however her colleague pulled a box of adaptors out from under the desk and offered me MY ADAPTOR back!! When i challenged the first young lady she informed me that it was hotel property and I would have to sign for it !!!! Sensing my growing frustration the senior clerk handed me my adaptor and said keep it ... not a problem. This was symptomatic of the hotel ... the potential to be great but fell down in so many small but very irritating ways.

A pleasant looking establishment that on first sight promised a good stay ... nice decor , pleasant surroundings ...quite a quirky building.

Barely anything. The spa and gym had a fee, but the facilities looked amazing and therefore I understand the price they had.

The facilities were top and the staff was friendly and effective, always being there for whatever the customer may need. The room and bed were confortable and the location was close to the center but not affected by traffic or noises.

A good selection for breakfast. Receptionist (Ainhoa?) was extremely helpful providing us with advice on places to visit. The hotel was only a few minutes walk to the restaurants, shops etc.

The price and the 4* is not adequate to the room we were assigned,not great value for the High price.The ceiling of the bathroom had staines as if there was a flooding.The carpet was not properly vaccumed.

Nothing really, although we did have to negotiate some steps to get in with our bikes. (I believe there is step free access via a lift from the garage) On the positive side, our two bikes were given a secure room by reception to themselves for the night.

Nice welcoming staff, beautiful building very well maintained, vast bed in our room which also had a very modern and well equipped en-suite, even including a full bath. Also, the room had air on. It was all very very comfortable. I even managed to take advantage of the outdoor pool. We did not eat in the hotel, as it is very close to all the bars in town where we were able to indulge our love of pinxtos. Similarly we did not breakfast at the hotel, but again went in to town to a cafe for breakfast. However, the Silken Gran experience was so good I re-booked to visit again in two weeks time. That probably tells you all you need to know. Frankly I don’t think I have had better hotel value anywhere.

The staff were so very helpful - rescued us from a horrible hotel we were stuck in, sent a taxi and made everything about our stay just lovely. The building was incredibly grand and historic, the pool beautiful and the spa changing rooms very handy for an extra swim before we had to catch a flight.

We loved everything! It’s a lovely place, very welcoming staff, beautifully decorated rooms and excellent food for both dinner and breakfast. Easy to find off the motorway and easy parking - great shower!
