Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the level of hospitality and care extended to us. Your apartment offered the perfect blend of comfort, style, and convenience that we could have hoped for. Our neighbors were friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed interacting with them throughout our stay. The children were delighted with the games and fun they found among their new friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime. The apartment itself was modern, spacious, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We appreciated having a fully equipped kitchen, allowing us to prepare home-cooked meals and save on dining out. The balcony view was simply breathtaking! We enjoyed breakfasts and evening cups of coffee, taking in the stunning vistas of the ocean and the surrounding nature. Our stay was made perfect by your attentive and friendly staff. They were always ready to assist us with any queries and provided excellent recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. Their professionalism and warm hospitality created a special ambiance that made us feel right at home. We also cannot overlook the excellent location of the apartment. No spices in the kitchen. Sound proofing could be better. The sheets in the bed weren’t comfortable.
Perfect location right next to the beach, ideal for surfers. Good kitchen for cooking with all necessary equipments. It was clean and modern and overall good stay.

It was a bit cold sometimes and the heating function of the AC didn't work, or was disabled? The quality of isolation and windows is good for local standards but still quite badly isolated, so it's hard to keep warm when it's cold outside. Doors didn't close (bathrooms).
Great location, good size, well equipped kitchen and rooms.

The bathroom could have more hangers! The bed was not for very tall people, probably only 190 cm in length but very comfy if you are not so tall.
Beautiful modern apartment! Every detail was perfectly thought of. We stayed there for a week with our 6 month old baby and loved it! The location is perfect, 1 min walk to the riviera with the beautiful beach, 8 min walk to Plaza España where a really nice pedestrian street starts and very easy to take the bus to the old town.
