The property is a beautifully converted 11th century building, the rooms are large and comfortable, and the team made me feel very much at home from the moment I arrived. With a delicious restaurant and wine cellar downstairs, it really is the perfect spot.

It’s quite expensive for what it is. We had problems with the bed, as the bedclothes were too small for the bed, so we fought over the duvet all night. Also, plastic sheet on bed- pet hate of mine. The lovely owner was a bit omnipresent.

Beautiful building full of character with friendly owner who takes great pride in the house which her family have owned since the fifteenth century . Nice supper cooked for us.

    Food a little overpriced.

Beautiful historical building full of charm with wonderful internal and external architecture. The rooms were restored in keeping with medieval style property. Wonderful wine cellar. Perfect location for exploring Penaranda de Dureo. Dates back to I think circa 11th century. Charming hostess Mamen. Made us very welcome.

Nice place but needs to live up to its status as a 'posada real' in low-season.

Maybe because it was low-low season there was just one person running the place, and she did her best. There were no options for dinner, just one type of meal. The building was very dark on the inside, as if switching on a light meant bankruptcy. The breakfast was kind of disappointing, even though it was meant well. I informed the lady that I didn't eat pork the day before, but there was bacon for breakfast nevertheless. I think that's quite ironic for an old synagoge. The posada relies on its status as a 'posada real' but more food options, more light and a warm room when someone checks in would be an improvement.

The posada is an old synagoge and nicely done up on the inside. To stay in an old place like that has something to it, it's atmospheric. The room is modern, good bed, good bathroom, nice view over the old cobble stone street. My bicycle was safely parked inside a building opposite the posada, Mamen was a very friendly host.

The fact that there was no one permanently on site and that we were frequently locked out of our room because of a faulty ' key' system. This led to a lot of stress.

A magical stay in a perfectly restored building dating from 1219, once a synagogue. Just below a fortress and castle which was renovated in the 15th century. Superb wines and delicious food, and must mention the extraordinary owner who welcomed us, Mamen. Stepping back in time but with all the modern comforts. Not to be missed!

Breakfast shouldve been much better for 12 euros each wouldve expected more than just a couple of pieces of ham and not very fresh bread and jam. Parking was a problem as not secure and had to leave our car on the narrow cobbled street done the road from the hotel, which was not ideal. We had pre booked the evening meal but cancelled this when we saw the menu. There was not much choice and the tapas choice seemed quite overpriced.Very glad we did cancel it if breakfast was anything to go by. We found a nice place to eat just opposite the hotel in the main square where the food was very good.

Breakfast was well overpriced at 12 euros but the coffee was good. Room was clean and bed was comfy and dog friendly was a plus. The building was very old with lots of character and had a winery in the cellar which was interesting to see.
