Nothing not to like

Friendly staff, great food, and beautiful views from my room made it a super place to stop over on our cycle ride from Malaga to Lisbon. Ten minute walk into town gave stunning views from the hill top. Substantial breakfast and secure storage for our bikes were much appreciated. Thanks for a lovely stay. .

Nothing, it was great and we'd certainly return. Only thing would be that the stairs maybe a problem for those with disabilities as they were quite steep.

The house is in the historic center with a beautiful view of the castle. The room is smaller, but absolutely sufficient for an overnight stay. The room has a fridge, TV, air conditioning. For an extra charge we had a good breakfast - baguette, croissant, coffee, juice. The service was nice. The house is in a quiet street, good for sleeping.

I have stayed here several times over the past 5 years, and the standards are consistently high. Rooms are clean, cosy, and excellent value. There is always some there to help you if needed; the location is quiet but within easy access to the main square.

I can't comment on the quality of the breakfast, as we met with our friends to eat in the town square. However, I thought €6 for a coffee, juice and toast or croissant was a little steep! Parking, if you have cases, is also a problem as you may have to walk up a steep hill from the heavily used municipal car park........but it's the same in many towns nowadays!

Not quite sure why it's only called a hostal! Maybe not as swanky as some hotels but better than some I've stayed in! We only stayed for one night in order not to have to drive home, having been drinking with friends who live in the town.......but the arrival and checkout were efficiently dealt with by Monica in a friendly way, the room and comfy beds were fine, the bathroom clean and not claustrophobic, and the view from the balcony excellent! Splendid positioning, just off the bustling town square.

A perfect place for a weekend getaway. We travelled for the New Year eve and the day after it so it was definitely fun to see authentic celebrations and the view from the terrace is fabulous.

there was no lift ,but as this is and old refomed property in the historic centre that was to be expected,and I did have the choice to cha ge to one floor down

my host Monica was very attentive and helpful,carrying my luggage and offering to change my room to the second floor .

If I had a complain it's really not a complaint.I found the room too small for me.If I was going again I would definitely book a larger room.I am asthmatic and I felt a bit claustrophobic.That is no fault of anyone but myself.

I loved the kindness of the owners Monica and Paco what a lovely couple.I would highly recommend the place to anyone.It was spotlessly clean.I could see the castle from the room which I didn't expect to see.

Nothing to dislike

Excellent hostel in one of our favourite villages. Monica and Paco are great hosts. Spacious, functional room with views from the terrace to the castle. Splendid breakfast tray delivered to our room. So good we stayed an extra night.

There are a few things that could be added like a new silent refrigerator, a hairdryer and maybe a water boiler but at the same time one must take into consideration that the price you actually pay maybe only for the marvellous view.

The famous movie "A room with a view" was in my mind every day during my stay. Unbeatable is the only word to describe what you see from the private terrass. An old moorish castle, a white washed village and the Andalusien mountains as a background is all you can ask for. Having breakfast served at the terrass there I could enjoy sunrise every morning was a mighty experience. My bed was comfortable and warm water came always to my shower after a little while...
