Room sadly not well sound proofed..noise from neighbouring bathrooms bit noisy, but room pretty quiet at night.

Location...generous room size, bath and shower. Good views of historical Avila walls.. Easy walking / transport /taxi to all sights, station and bus terminal. Lively atmosphere in bar and restaurant. Short walks to fabulous walls, historic sites and Cathedral. Buzzing with locals enjoying themselves. Breakfast included ....very good value. Short walks into old city with bars and good tapas.

thin walls, therefore flushing of pipes for bathrooms caused a racket. just have to hope that everyone keeps it down between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am..

Location excellent for the walls. Room with a view of them is above the restaurant, so the noise and cooking smells are significant until late. But very much reduced by closing the shutters. There's no lift, which might be a factor for some older guests with luggage. The food at the restaurant was not great, despite the relatively high prices. But the staff were pleasant.

Nothing to dislike.

The location of the Hostal could not be more central. We visited in mid-October and so the weather can be unpredictable, but we were lucky with just blustery winds and only a little rain. It’s the highest provincial capital city in Spain; higher than Snowdon by 50 or so metres! The hotel is run efficiently with an excellent, simple breakfast included in the price and very clean rooms. We’ll definitely go back as there’s so much to see in Ávila. An hour and a half in the Cathedral was nothing like enough. Beware of the verracos you might hear a great noise inside them if you listen closely.......You’ll find out what I mean in the Santo Tomé Museo.

No plug in wash hand basin. Beds for us were low, for us oldies. Kept hitting head on TV in bedroom.

Bearing in mind the location the hostel was good value for money. The covered cafe area was really nice. Lots of hot water. Bedroom was very clean. Beds were comfortable.

Central location, rooms are slightly tired and could do with a refurb, friendly and helpful staff, really good value for money for the location, I was there with a motorcycle, there is free on street parking a just down the street.

The room was on the top floor, and was small, dark, and hot. On the plus side, it had lights and air con, so was ok for a night's sleep. The walls are pretty thin, and the couple in the next room were....amorous. luckily, they ran out of steam before I needed to sleep.

The hotel, as the name suggests, is right opposite one of the gateways into the old medieval castle. A room here puts you right in the middle of the historic centre.

When we booked we were told that we could unpack the car outside the hostel and that the car park was quite near. However when we tried to do this we were screamed at by a woman that we were in the space outside her shop and we had to move. This meant we had to carry all our luggage from the car park which was way down the road. Must say the men in charge of the car park was very helpful.

The breakfast was very good and the lady in charge (I think the Housekeeper) was very helpful even although we had a language problem.

Checking in is not easy. We arrived at 4pm, and having waited at the unattended reception for some time, were finally helped by one of the domestic staff after we’d asked her a number of times. She told me that it wouldn’t be possible to check in until 5pm as the receptionist would not be on duty until then, but that if I gave her my identification document she could give me a key to the room. We therefore deposited our luggage in the room, went for coffee at a neighbouring bar and returned to reception at 5pm. The reception was still unattended, so again we waited. The receptionist finally appeared at 5:10pm and checked us in.

Great location, a room with a nice view towards one of the gates in the beautiful town walls, comfortable beds, decent Wifi and air-conditioning, and a good shower. Inexpensive.

The bed is uncomfortable (the mattress is really hard). The heat is broken and there is an additional one.

You can hear the neighbouring room's shower and toilet as loud as if they were in your room. There is also considerable noise from people passing by outside. So, if you are not a good sleeper and wish to rest, do not take this hotel

The room is poorly equipped. No coffee, tea, nothing. The table is tiny, there is only one chair. The bathroom is poorly equipped, the shower cabin opened / closed with difficulty. Everything is old. It is impossible to drive to the hotel by car and there is no elevator, steep stairs.

The lady at the front desk was very nice although she didn't speak English. The location is very close to the old town. Breakfast is quite normal, although without eggs.

The hotel is basic, nothing fancy, but sufficient for a comfortable nights sleep. We needed to a place to stay to break up the journey and it served that purpose, with the possibility to see a little bit of the city.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, right next to the city walls with plenty of restaurants surrounding to choose from. The breakfast was also good enough.
