Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The person on the front desk could've been a little more welcoming.
Nice basic hotel in the middle of a very nice village in the mountains. Room comfortable. Shower was particularly good, very powerful. Some nice food options close to the hotel.

It was more like Airbnb than a hotel. A subtle difference dependening on what you're looking for.
Great location for many hikes. I arrived earlier and the lady let me check in earlier which was greatly appreciated ! The room had a blanket for when you're cold and a hair dryer which were a plus.

The location is amazing, on the starting points of numerous trails. The room is not the biggest, but good value for the price that you pay. They also have a restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner (home made food), really recomendable.

The internet at the hotel is terrible, which affects the ability of the card machine to work, so it's worth while having cash to cover your stay if the internet goes down.
After a long day of hiking, it was lovely to end up here! It's a small family owned hotel and restaurant, and they made me feel so welcome once we arrived. We loved sitting on the terrace with a well earned beer and listening to the birds chirp and admiring the view.

Excellent location in center of Sotres. We had room #10 which has a large balcony with great mountain views. The owner is super nice and really wants to make sure we are happy with everything. Good restaurant on property.

After a long day of hiking in the Picos de Europa, it was wonderful to stay here and rejuvenate. Very comfortable beds and nice shower! We had a beautiful view from our window and the balcony off of our room. The restaurant was convenient and delicious for dinner and breakfast. Highly recommend!

I'm personally not a huge fan of the cabrales cheese sauces, a blue cheese which is a staple in the area and is part of half of the dishes, but I can't really complain about that as there are still many other options. Everything else was o-queso I can't complain (pardon the cheesy pun (*_*))
My friend and I really enjoyed our stay before a long hike. Comfortable beds, friendly staff who let us store our belongings until we returned from our hike, and top quality homestyle food. We got a two course meal each and a bottle of red wine for €34 (el perdiz escabechada era muy delicioso, gracias!). One staff member spoke some English but knowing a bit of Spanish will make things much easier of course. Oh and a magnificent mountain view from the balcony when the clouds clear. Highly recommend!

Mind that the host does not speak English, so a few basic words of Spanish will be helpful. Breakfast is not included if you book on Booking.com, but can be purchased for €4 p.p. She had delicious home-made orange marmelade.
Simple, but good room with a newly renovated bathroom and we had a balcony with mountain view. Great location for hiking.

Lovely place with a very hospitable and great crew. We were lucky enough to have a room with a balcony, whoch provided us with a great view on all the surrounding mountains.

Small but really comfy room with good light and a nice view to the mountains. Friendly staff. The dinner menu was amazing, really cheap and well served.
