Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I did not experience any problems or disappointments.
The Parador is in the perfect location for my wishes to enjoy Avila. The arrangement of facilities inside the building and the grounds is very well designed.

Chaotic bar service in the evening, Being Saturday it was a busy night but the staff did not handle the situation well, tables were left uncleared and there was a very long wait for service. We gave up trying to get a pre dinner drink in the end.
The building and outside areas were beautiful. Location in the centre of the town was very convenient. Free parking, especially so centrally, was a bonus

When we booked about 2-3 months before our visit we also booked dinner and asked for a window table. We were 4th into the restaurant and all the window tables were occupied. Very disappointing.
The hotel is very elegant and beautifully decorated. The terrace and garden are particularly beautiful and very relaxing. The food was delicious.

This was my first Parador and I think I expected a bit more charm.
Room was spacious with a nice outlook. Outside space was lovely for a coffee in the sunshine. Food was delicious.

Parador in the historic center of Avila, everything as expected by a Parador. The restaurant serves properly matured steaks from local Spanish cattle, prepared to your liking, excellent!

There was no English language TV. The stations were on the cable list but no broadcast was available.

Parking was tricky and very tight. Watch out with those expensive wheels Low kerbs, narrow streets, granite bollards are all routinely encountered in this walled city…
Fantastic location and city-just amazing. We didn’t have enough time however, so we will be returning. Snow didn’t help!

The room temperature could be better. The "smells" at some areas near the elevator.

A clean, spacious and comfortable room. The lounge areas and bar were delightful as were the tasteful Christmas decorations. The on site parking was a bonus. We enjoyed an excellent meal in the restaurant and breakfast was all you could ask for.

Very helpful staff, great location, beautiful building and grounds. We had reserved parking but since there was a free spot available they didn't make us move to the paid garage spot so saved 14 euros. Also we were able to check in 2 hours early.

It’s a Parador- enough said.Excellent in every way. Just avoid the leg of lamb in the restaurant otherwise you will find yourself eating the hind leg of a lamb including its little hooves!

I would have expect more variable offer for the breakfast. I missed fresh vegetable and more cakes. Taking into account that this is the historic palace you must count with some stairs.
I stayed for just 1 night. What I appreciated was the location just next to the city walls and fantastic dinner - typical local cuisine. The place itself was very nice, especially the garden with the terrace. I did not have time to enjoy it - next time I would have an afternoon coffee / tea there.
