Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Booking process via booking.com was a little complicated and unusual.
Great location right next to the metro, clean apartment which was well stocked. Gisela at reception was super helpful and gave many tips on things to do in the city. Beds were good and sofa bed was decent.

Clean, simple, with all the basic necessities. All types of public transport within 50m radius. Bakery, pharmacy and places to eat out within 100m radius.Great follow up and communication from the staff.

i paid via a transfer (link sent via booking) this made me a bit nervous but turned out to be fine. Explaining it because we get flagged as suspicious transaction didn't help.
I wanted somewhere easy to hang out with friends in the eve but also quiet enough with solid wifi so I could work during the day. wifi was great, desk available, clean quiet and great location 2 min from metro but most places walkable. lots of little bakeries and stores for essentials though shampoo/ tea/ coffee washing up liquid were there already The location meant I could meet up with friends and do cool stuff in the eve. The staff in the office were friendly and the instructions to collect the keys and access the flat/ building easy to follow Super useful guide book in the flat. I could hear movement from the flat above and road noise if the windows open but nothing disruptive Towels, extra blanket and everything kitchen you need I'm really pleased we booked here

Insufficient hooks in the bedrooms for hanging personal belongings like handbags, coats, scarves for easy access. A mirror in the living room or short hall-way before the main door would be helpful.
It was cosy, clean & all electrical amenities worked without a hitch. Best of all, Gisela was most helpful before our arrival, and very informative about the area, pointed out places of interest & transportation on a map & caution us on safety of our property. Our stay coincided with Easter week, so the office was closed 3-4 days of our stay. She ensured that we were well stocked on the essentials.

I like the staff very kind and always ready to help. The location was very good and the neighborhood very calm. For a family is a very good location.

It was very clean, quiet and got everything we need. Full kitchen, washing machine, fridge and even oil and coffee maker, wifi.Metro station is very close, Guel park 20 min walk, shops… all you need. Staff was lovely and told us everything we need to know. They even give us suggestions and was very polite. On day out they let our suitcases stand on their office as we still have time till our next bookking. Perfect choice for family. Only I suggest to change tv to smart tv:) but that is only to grow and be even better.

The staff was very helpful and we even got the room earlier that check in time. There was an issue with the AC but we got a refund for the inconvenience. The shared terrace at the top of the building is really nice to hang out with free coffee ! :)

Shampoo and shower gel is not enough, so we had to buy one at the supermarket the last day.
The lady at reception is amazingly helpful and her English is mother-tone level fluent!

It would have been nice to have one full length mirror in the apartment somewhere but this didn't spoil my holiday at all.
The apartment was in a good location and easy to get to from the airport. It was clean and had good facilities, loved having the kitchen area and found it really spacious. We really enjoyed exploring the local area and the staff were so helpful when we needed advice on how to get around. The roof terrace was an added bonus and a nice hidden gem. Lovely shops and great places to eat. A lovely apartment and Barcelona was a great place to holiday. Will definitely go back!

As soon as we got in the flat there was a strong smell of cigarette. I assume from previous tenants, very unpleasant. Had to open windows for the smell to slowly get away.
Amazing flat! Great location with easy access to all main attractions in Barcelona. Metro 2 minutes away. Plenty of shops around like bakery and coffee shops to get that fresh bread in the morning.

The TV is a little bit small and no international channels but it's ok

More TV sets than useful TV channels. Bad is comfortable, but it is slightly tippi g inwards. Pillows are too flat.
Enough space with reasonable kitchen. close to major roads. but noise insulation towards the streets is good. washing machine is a plus. Got a very good overview guidance of the city at the reception….we followed her suggestions and had a wonderful weekend. Clean was well done. supereasy to reach airport and centrum with metro, Camp Nou, Guell park and Sant Pau with bus H6. Felt safe in the area.

The staff was exceptional, above and beyond just renting the property. Erica helped me make some calls to deal with medicines that were stolen on the train. Wonderful location for public transport and eating.
