A funny thing was that there 5 odour sanitizers in the house, as it is situated at the lowest floor I understand why they were there :). The house was very clean

We would stay again at this well-located apartment. We had a rental car, preferred not to have to drive into the center of Bilbao but wanted to be a close walk to the Viejo Cascio (Old quarter) with the best food/charm/etc. This apartment was perfect for that. The owner was so nice and offered good advice. We could walk to the best pinxhos in the old town within 5-7 minutes. We were delighted to find a few nice bars, a medium sized grocery store, a great fruit/vegetable shop, bakery, coffee, etc within a couple minutes walk. The apartment is located on a dead end which was nice. The walk home from the center is flat except for the last block which is short but up a pretty good hill. We are 60 and 70 and had no problem coming and going. The beds were very comfortable, the apartment was quiet and a great respite from the liveliness in town. The bathroom is pretty tiny but fine and clean. The kitchen is great and very well stocked for a longer stay had we felt like cooking. The building that the apartment is in is nice and quiet. The patio was very large with a sheltered table and we'd have used it if we'd stayed longer. the location could not be better. Do park first rather than trying to take your car up hill to the dead end. The car park was nice, clean, safe, underground, and a block and a half away/4 minute walk right on the way to the old town if you needed to retrieve something from the car which was nice. Cost for 2 days parking (you may come and go but we didn't) was about 36 euros so $42. We loved Bilbao and felt like this apartment made it easy to walk to everything. It's a flat, beautiful walk along the river to the Guggenheim which takes about 15 minutes one way. Everything is walkable from the apartment which was great. Thanks Borja, we will be back.

The location was perfect, so near the casco viejo and the train station while also near our friends. The place was absolutely immaculate, the host couldn't have been more welcoming, the patio a delightful bonus! The most important thing: very comfortable beds.

Bathroom is pretty small. Not much you can do about it, but just fyi for bigger guests.

Perfect location. Super friendly host and very responsive. Clean. Great patio. We were a group of 3 + 1 dog and it was the perfect place to stay for a couple nights.

The location of the apartment was central so everything was close by. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bonuses included the coffee machine and outdoor seating area! Borja was an excellent host, he greeted us at the apartment and gave us local travel and food recommendations. The check-in and checkout process was simple.

Communication was rather special: Owner was severely over communicating. Sort of spamming us before we arrived. Sent us an extensive video about his wonderful apartment and insisted severely we watch it !!! By the way, we watched the video later and it is a nice fairy tale about everything lovely and new, but of no practical use. More communication: When we arrived, the apartment was NOT READY (at 5.00 pm!). The Owner excused with problems with the guests before and claimed more time to have the place ready. No problem with us so far, we are cooperative. BUT why on earth, with all the redundant and patronizing communication before, had the owner not told us beforehand? He obviously knew about his guest problem. We could have stayed longer at the nice beach we came from … When we asked simple questions (in Spanish!), like, ‘Please, where is the next public garage to the house’, we got rather patronizing answers like ‘Why didn’t you watch my video?’ instead of a kind and short name or address for our map navigation by car. Furthermore, without complaining, we had asked later how the heating is put to work: We received an explanation and the teacher’s reminder ‘You should have asked earlier !’ No, we are your paying GUESTS, we ask, without any complaining, when WE like to ask! The apartment is to a back yard, the terrace is nice in general but was not well maintained. (Fotos). We have experienced washed clothes falling down from drying lines from higher apartments above, and a bigger metal screw that fell down on the terrace as well. And the different relevant above neighbors who came to fetch each, separately 😊. 1) We COULD NOT CHANGE the apartment (and lose our money), as it was the weekend when Bilbao’s football team had won the national championship and Bilbao was fully booked. 2) After we had left, the owner quickly send us a long, long voice message, asking and begging in an unpleasant way for an evaluation of 10 out of 10 for his apartment. YES, IF ...

First of all cleaning lady does a great job, everything that follows has to do with the equipment and substance of the apartment itself! Second of all: We slept many other nights in beautiful places in Spain before we decided to write this evaluation, so no first impulse in the following words: The PICTURES on booking.com do NOT reflect the real situation. The apartment is about 45 m² only. On the the pictures everything looks bright and new ... The two rooms are about 10 and 9 m². This Apartment should not be booked for more than two (2) people. There is an architect plan at the door: The bathroom is 1,60 m², including the shower. (Foto attached). Furniture is VERY USED (sofa, chairs) and with permanent dirt stains, especially the seats of the chairs and the carpet. The apartment is very well situated, in a more historic house in downtown Bilbao. When we arrived we found three (3) strong perfume dispensers distributed in this small app. When we put them outside because they caused headache, we found out, that the apartment HAS A SEVERE PROBLEM WITH MOLD in the lower kitchen cupboard and in the shower. The owner seems to know about it and tries to hide with perfumes. (See photos). Mattress in the larger bedroom (10m²) was ok. Beds are constructed as boxes that are closed with LOCKS! (Photos) When we arrived, the cleaning lady was still working and we saw one of these locked bed boxes open. It contained material for maintenance, bed sheets, towels. Had we not seen this, we would have felt VERY uncomfortable to have a bed with locked case underneath one’s mattress and pillow. Bed sheets were clean but SMELLED OF MOLD as they are stored in the bed box in the moldy apartment. We were traveling by car and could use our own pillow sheets instead. Blankets provided for the beds are very used, with cigarette burns or other holes in it. We used our sleeping bags as blankets.

The flat is humid, one room has a window which is no use, because faces a small air shaft, insufficient for effective ventilation.

Good position, easy procedures to enter in the house, good fornitures and general presentation.

It is a good size apartment, well equipped and beds are super comfortable. Tvs in the bedrooms and living room. The host makes everything possible to make your stay a special one.

Two main points of attention: although centrally located, it is on an uphill street. Super unformatted to carry ou luggage for 400ms uphill from the closest parking. The street is super narrow and there is no parking spot. The other point is the size of the bathroom. I am 1.72m height and it was almost impossible to use it. Very tiny.
