There is nothing we did not like.

This hotel is a gem, located off the main square of L'Escala where we had a view of the sea from our room. There is also a lovely roof terrace to enjoy. The room was restful and relaxed with a really comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. Matthew and Mariona are excellent hosts; warm, welcoming and professional. The continental breakfast was to a high standard with a variety of healthy and delicious options on offer. In addition, there is a first rate restaurant in the hotel which offers a varied and interesting menu- not to be missed if in L'Escala! We hope to be back soon. Thank you Mariona and Matthew for looking after us so well.

if you come by car you have to organise a bit how to get your luggage to the hotel and then look for a parking. If you know you see it is well organised parking on reserved places in the public garage being in 10 min walking distance

Might be good to put beach towels in the room ?

We loved our stay: the stylish decor in a historic building - the salt house and its location moments from a lovely beach and lots of cafes. The owners, Catalan local and her New Zealander husband are very welcoming and laidback. Breakfasts were excellent and we had a huge enjoyable dinner in the restaurant with local anchovies and tomato bread and charcoal grilled fish and flan. We definitely plan on returning .

The breakfast was very mid, they didn’t serve warm breakfast.

Location was great, close to the beach. We even had a view of the beach from our balcony. I liked that they had a resturant right below.

Very welcoming, caring and sincerely kind staff. Our plane was delayed and we were therefore scheduled to arrive at 04:00 AM. Matthew (one of the owners) waited for us all night so we could check in. During our stay both Mariona and Mathew continued to be helpful and just great hosts, which made our stay a real pleasure. The room and bathroom are modern and were perfectly clean. The location of the hotel is very central, in close vicinity of the beach and several restaurants and cafes. Breakfast includes coffee and freshly pressed orange juice.

Delightful comfortable hotel right next to the beach. The room decor was in good taste and the bed really comfortable. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel's restaurant was popular, of high quality and reasonably priced for L'Escala.

Amazing place with an amazing hosts. I was surprised about this hotel- the room was so big, I have a sea view, modern, comfortable, clean - for this money it’s a treasure!. Perfect location.Very good surved breakfast. Very good communication about arrival time, parking etc.

Exceptionally kind, knowledgeable and professional staff. The property was clean, well appointment and had generous amenities. We ate at the restaurant and were very pleased. Highly recommended - we will definitely be back!

Lovely location, metres from the beach in the old town. Room was lovely, fantastic decor and looking like it was decorated last week, with a great view down to the beach from the balcony. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast.

The only downside was that the coffee sachets weren't replenished for the second night.

The Taverna has been tastefully renovated to a high standard. The room was spacious with a large bathroom with rainshower. Breakfast was excellent. The location, metres from the central beach, restaurants and bars can't be bettered. The proprietors are very friendly and welcoming, taking time to talk to their guests.

This was our second visit and we still loved everything about this hotel. Mariona and Matthew are perfect hosts, the room was delightful with a little balcony and sea view. Breakfasts were delicious. L'Escala is a beautiful place and this hotel is the icing on the cake. The restaurant downstairs is also excellent.

If you're coming by car, call ahead to ask them about it...the only way to bring the car in front of the hotel to unload your luggage is to drive into a pedestrian area, past signs that threaten you with a 200 Euro fine. It's ultimately no problem and Matthew (co-owner) will work everything out for you, but better to understand the situation in advance.

Lovely place to stay, run by lovely people. Nice location – easy to spend the days exploring beaches and such on foot or bike, then spend the night in town. Clean, thoughtfully arranged rooms. Restaurant is also good.

The hosts were amazing! So hospitable and they help you as best as possible to make the stay comfortable. The breakfast is the best I’ve had in years.
