Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaSo comfortable and thoughtfully set up: nice beds with sheets, no upper bunks, nice, functional bed table next to each bed and a lamp and power outlet. The host, Juan, was so nice and compassionate after our extra-long walk. Great, roomy bathrooms and showers, a lovely yard and terrace and delicious dinner.

AustraliaThe only thing I could fault was the refusal to have the clothes airer outside in the sunshine. There is a washing room and it had to stay there. So sunlight through the windows but no air = slower drying. Everything was fine though.
The best! All beds are single beds and they’re provided with sheets and a light doona / quilt. Most have their own little hanging area too. Juan is the best. Super personable and available for all things. He checks you in, ushers you to your bed, turns it down and tells you this is your home. After some long days this was an absolute blessing. The courtyard is grassed or there’s a shaded drinking / dining area. It’s a short walk to anywhere. The food was perfect.

Awesome albergue for 16 euros. The whole place felt like a hotel. No bunk beds! The showers were great. I had the peregrino meal there and the food was very delicious. Juan was a great staff as well.

This was a great place to stay on the Camino. It was a hotel experience at a hostel price. Juan the manager/owner was welcoming, friendly, helpful and worked very hard. He was checking us in, running the bar and the restaurant. It was airy and spacious, very well designed and everywhere was very clean. The dorms had beds, not bunks, with bedside tables, lights, plug sockets and hanging rails. The ceilings were high with tall doors/windows to the outside that allowed good ventilation. The bathrooms were great, with marble sinks, showers and toilets. The terrace and garden outside were lovely, and inside there was a great bar and dining room. There is also a large indoor seating area. The pilgrim's dinner was excellent and plated up like restaurant food. The position was great - Villafranca is a lovely town - within easy walk of the main square, restaurants and cafes. It really was a lovely place to stay.

United States of Americasuper clean. Very comfortable. Not having to sleep in a bunk was so nice! Easily one of the best places on the Camino. Juan was the most kind and hard working host. The food is amazing too! When we said goodbye Juan gave me a big hug and said “this is your home”…and for less than 24 hours it sure felt like it.

CanadaAn albergue that felt more like a boutique resort! After a very taxing day on the Camino, Vina Femita was the perfect place to relax and recuperate. I loved sitting on the terrace with a drink from the bar, enjoying the view of charming Villafranca. Juan was an incredibly kind and attentive host. Nothing was too much trouble and you could tell he truly cared about his guests.
