Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ChinaVery nice place but not as scenic as some of the other beaches on Malolo, or the surrounding islands. The beach was ok, but not great.
Located right on the beach so it was nice to go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of crashing waves. The price included breakfast, lunch and dinner, but drinks were extra.

New ZealandI'm a surfer so can put up with almost anything. The facilities are getting dated and the room was located at the top of a hill. You had to walk 300m from the main reception along a narrow path and vertical stairs. There is only one 9-seater boat so you are literally stuck on Malolo at the mercy of management and the boat driver. If they have staff errands to run or other guests on activities, you are stuck. Every little boat ride costs you between $60-$100FJD. It is easily 1 hour back to Denarau or Anchorage. No protection on the boat if its stormy and lots of chop. Booking counter #14 does not exist at Denarau Maria. Go to the Beachcomber counter (their partner opposite Cloud 9 counter) instead. I lost 30 mins trying to find it and almost missed the once-a-day transfer to Malolo. They Maloto Cat goes 4 times a day to Musket Cove for the same price. Then it's just a quick 10 minute boat to Funky Fish. This means you don't lose a day on the mainland to meet flight schedules.
I'm glad I booked a room with aircon and a hot shower. The food provided was very good, although on a 3-day revolving, fixed menu. It rained hard at night and the kitchen staff wrapped and delivered my dinner to my room saving me from getting drenched. The pool was small but clean and refreshing.

IrelandThe location is very isolated so you're very dependent on water taxi availability
The resort is great for a solo or budget traveller who's looking for a low key break in Malolo. The food was delicious, the staff extremely friendly and the accommodation very basic and quaint.

BelgiumIt was sometimes difficult to arrange stuff (rental of surfboards, boat to surf spot). On the other hand, they handled to get us a late afternoon transport for reasonable price to our next resort.
Close to surfing spots, good value for money, nice food, friendly staff and good facilities. Very relaxed place!

CanadaBreakfast was bad, very quiet and boring. Not a lot of the activities on the website were there and there was not much to do. Not a lot of opportunity for guests to interact.
Bures were nice, rooms were big enough with a large shower. Beach and pool were nice with free water sports. Lunch and dinner were good but breakfast was sad.

United KingdomRooms are a bit old. They could add some paddle boards, kayaks, newer surfboards for rent.
Amazing location just 30min boat ride to the surf. The food was very good and the staff was lovely. Tumeli, the manager, is super helpful and tried to accommodate all the guests needs. The price is very good compared to the surrounding options.

New ZealandBugs, slow reception but efficient, generator noise in first room (5), tidal water no snorkeling, water $8 FJD/LT is robbery as it is $3 FJD max on mainland.
Amazing location, friendly staff (Thank you Mari!) and good food. Bures are very basic but right on the beach, which is very tidal and not for snorkeling but you can paddleboard or kayak free. Location is short boat ride from Musket Cove accessible from mainland with ferry. Pool and relaxing area is good, bar is full service. Everyone sharing meals in dining area it's easy to get to know other travellers. Great atmosphere! Wifi in reception only. Very, very buggy (mosquitoes and sandflies) but rooms have screens-just bring lots of repellent. No aircon but not needed as fans and windows were perfect. I would not stay in new building at the top. Generator went out for the day-but they got it sorted by dinner This is an island! Lots of day trips (recommend Cloud9) for surf too.

New ZealandCan’t think of anything
Very relaxed and relaxing - extremely good value, staff and fellow guests really made this a great choice. It’s very basic but it’s Fiji - what more do you need other than sun, sand and good company?

New ZealandThe room was way too small. No where to put our luggage . No storage space. It was windy when we stayed and the wind felt like it came though the hut and felt like a fan on full speed. Be careful not to lock yourself out of the bathroom. They don't have spare keys 😅. The property is tucked in a cove which felt cold alot of the time. We ended up taking a boat to castaway which was amazing for snorkeling and chilling at the beach. No wifi in the room. You have to sit in the communal area for that.
Food was good. They upgraded our fridge mid stay.there is a hike to a look out point behind the resort. Organizing day trips are easy with reception. Staff were friendly. Henry was always trying to make us comfortable and always kind. They have nice big lounging sunbeds by the pool.

New ZealandUltimately wasn’t as advertised and what we got was different to all the things promised on their website - parts were run down (like pool, rooms) and the wifi barely works. This also applies to the food menu, as it’s not three courses and there is no morning or afternoon tea and unfortunately as a vegan the “options” were not adequate (despite staff being lovely and taking requests). I imagine much of this is due to COVID but prices or website needs to be updated to the new reality - it’s still a great place to stay on a budget
Staff were lovely, shared area was great, and good proximity to surf spots.

Canadaone staff member was inappropriate with me towards the end of the stay. beachfront property does not offer a secure room for solo traveller. felt unsafe. open air shower, which is fine but anyone can access your room. also I felt I was bothering sone of the staff when asking for something. which should not be when your paying to stay there. that I didn’t like.
