Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe single bed I slept in wasn't the most comfortable i could feel the springs of the mattress I would recommend just putting a foam mattress topper on for that little bit of extra comfort.
Large room and good size shower with good water pressure. Great value for money. Friendly and helpful staff behind the bar. Would definitely stay again.

United KingdomIt was incredibly noisy. When we arrived at about 6pm we walked into the bar to get keys for our room. The music was deafening. There was a sign saying 'no children allowed in bar after 4pm'. We went out to eat and returned in the hope of sleep. No chance. Thumping bass from the music in the bar below kept us awake for ages and when the pub finally closed at midnight the punters continued yelling, swearing and arguing in the street. The heating was sweltering and it wouldn't turn down. The bathmat was damp from previous occupants and that made me worry that the towels may not have been changed either. Neither of my children slept. I'd thought of booking a Premier Inn or Travelodge but decided to go for an independent. Big mistake. Very disappointed especially as the reviews on Tripadvisor had said family friendly and were so positive. Never again.
Can't think of anything. I think the man who showed us the rooms was relatively friendly, but we couldn't hear him anyway.

United KingdomThe heating hadn't been turned on and it was a very cold day, so the room smelled of damp. However, it was lovely and warm once we had turned on the radiators. The accommodation was old with a few issues that needed attention, such as a wonky TV screen bracket, no lamps (ceiling lights are really harsh), and the small bathroom shelf was tilting so things fell off it. The shower tray had some hair in it.
The location was good, away from busy traffic and our room was at the back of the Inn, so very quiet. We couldn't park right outside, but found a car park nearby that cost £4 for 24 hours, which suited us as we had an evening business meeting to attend.
