Food was not great. Mussels were overcooked, lots of broken shells. Squid was soggy. Service was excellent but quality of cooking not up to standard compared to the rest of the hotel.

Nice spacious room. Big comfortable bed. Quiet (well away from the weddings). Good service. Good little swimming pool. Feeling of being set back from the town with nice grounds. Nice bar.

The room was boiling hot even with the window open. There was a little fan in the room but it didn’t do much.

Not necessarily the property but a slight niggle was due to the booking on this site, it wasn’t clear that we’d need to pay for breakfast as an addition upon arrival and in all honesty I think the breakfast wasn’t 4* worthy but albeit the food was nice

Lovely surroundings, ample parking and comfortable rooms. We stayed in a superior king room in the carriage external building and it was lovely. The bed was really comfortable had a great night sleep and the facilities wee great!

It's clearly a popular wedding and party venue and big functions were being held on both nights I was there. The music was an issue late at night for some people, although it didn't bother me. I think it stopped at 12 anyway.

It's a lovely setting, nice rooms, good restaurant and food. Did what I needed.

There could have been a better range of in room amenities, like choice of teas. It was also tricky to keep the room cool as the window had a restricted opening that gradually shut itself. The gym was incredibly hot.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful and everything was clean and comfortable. The family room was spacious enough for the 3 of us.

The toaster was not fast or consistent in making toast. The grapefruit juice was no available on the dispenser, but was more viscous than I expected and the flavour was weak. I assume it must have been partially made from pink grapefruit judging by he colour. The black pudding had too many oats or bread in the mix, taste was disappointing. Disappointed by the lack of draught real ale at the bar. Th Havelock desert menu was all a bit heavy, nothing light. I chose the banana and butterscotch Frangipane but it was a big disappointment in taste and texture and the salted caramel ice cream too strong and sweet .

A good range of cooked breakfast food, English style. An excellent choice of tinned fruit. Plenty of bread. I liked the electronically controlled dispenser for water, orange juice and apple juice- quick and easy. Enjoyed dining in the restaurant, but some of the staff were clearly young and quite new to the role. My wife and I enjoyed the Havelock Restaurant. the Lime & coriander marinated Duck Breast was an absolute joy.

The bed was quite stiff. Mine and my partners room also had quite a few flies in it, considering the room was clean. The flies were dead around the floor and on the windowsils.

The decor was beautiful. I liked the originality of the furniture and oil paintings. The outside of the property was very pretty. The staff were polite and welcoming.

I booked twin bed room but it was double bed king size. We didn't ask to change as it was late.

Good location and pleasant staff. The room was clean and quiet, we had an unexpected stop. Room comes with three tables, one with teas and kettle. The room has iron and hair drier.
