I had to go to the front desk twice and insist.

the final response of the front desk when we thought the room we were given was not the one we paid for. It was probably the smallest and darkest room in the hotel, with views on rubbish and car park. Certainly not 30sqm as advertised. As the hotel was full, we were given the Conan Doyle Suite.

My room was booked to have BIDET but didn't have one. Don't laugh. Lol. It's quite important. 😆 🤣. I have four bathrooms in my house and they all are crowded with bidets!! That is a criteria!!

The location was great and the breakfast plus the staff were marvellous 👍 😀 👌!!!

Some parts of the room look somewhat dated. Very small print though.

Staff, location, and facilities (spa/bar) were all excellent. Great suggestions for restaurants from the concierge team.

Building is old so large and floors can creak but that can’t be helped and didn’t really detract from our enjoyment.

We were welcomed and given an upgrade and a free breakfast and treated for an occasion. It’s a beautiful hotel and was a lovely experience.

Some of the prices ie afternoon tea for 2 -£120, that is just ridiculous. Breakfast £75 for 2 - we would of loved to eat at the property but the prices were well out of our range.

The staff were really really friendly, they couldn’t be more helpful/polite.

A grand hotel which is only just meeting your needs

There are parts of the hotel which feel a little tired. The Spa really needs some work and is dirty in places. The room had only 2 plug sockets. Really tricky for chargers and hairdryers etc. Housekeeping didn’t service our room during the day so after a long days sight seeing coming back to a messy room was disappointing- we had to vacate the room to allow them to clean it. A real shame. Service was poor in the bars and Peacock Alley - I think they are understaffed. The afternoon tea was not freshly made with sandwiches which had clearly just been removed from the fridge resulting in cold, dry sandwiches. The cakes were really cold too. Really disappointing

A gorgeous hotel which is in a great location. Helpful concierge and front desk staff. Room was lovely and large. Highly recommend Grazing restaurant and the breakfast was amazing

My wife and I were underwhelmed by the spa facilities and the layout of the room where the tv was facing the door.

It had a very grand feeling about it. We were given a little welcome package and were upgraded to a King Suite as we were celebrating our anniversary. All the staff were amazing and friendly and would recommend to family and friends.

The property was exceptional. But whenever we encounter a room advertised as a “double bed” that turns out to be two single beds pushed together - we have an issue with comfort. A standard double bed would have been much more acceptable.

The whole experience was exceptional. The history of the building was of interest and the staff made us feel welcome at all times.

The room was very cold and took 20 hours to warm up and the bathroom was cold during the whole stay, we requested extra blankets to keep warm and it took 3 requests and 8 hours before they arrived, as we only stayed for 2 nights this became an issue on the overall stay.

Pool area is tiered and a bit dirty. Poor quality for price of hotel. Air con in room so loud we couldn’t use it meaning we couldn’t heat the room up.
