Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy friends room did not have a TV remote so we had to revisit reception where the staff fixed the problem by changing her room and were able to still keep it close to my room
Room clean and had everything I needed.Reception staff were polite, professional and helpful. The bar area was sufficient but we chose to visit the Novotel next door for our evening meal. Parking was a 7 minute town centre walk away but Ibis stamped our ticket to facilitate a half price stay of £6 overnight. The hotel was a very good price

United KingdomProvision of a safe would have been usefal.
Very clean room of generous size, a comfortable bed and a big shower compartment. Lots of storage and sitting space, tea-making facilities, and a very secure door with 24-hour lobby staff. A safe or safe-box would have been useful for valuables. Good lifts for heavy luggage and a very close position near the railway station and transport links to Heathrow and Gatwick make it an ideal location for transit passengers. The location also offers lots of places to eat, several supermarkets and Reading town centre, with its usual chain-stores is just a short walk away.

United KingdomUnfortunately our neighbours in the rooms above us were very loud and we could hear everything...
Every thing you need is in your room : hairdryer, hangers, extra pillows, body wash etc. However our tea selection was very sparse for our tastes. - we were only staying over night and needed to catch a train so did not have time to go to reception. I would think that they would remedy this quickly, Location is great - close to the train station and shopping areas to. quite a few pubs and clubs near by also . Check in was smooth and painless. The chap who checked us was lovely and had a great sense of humour too. We will be back.

United KingdomFor the price, couldn’t be better.
The centre of Reading near the station is a bit rough, but this hotel is a nice escape from those things. Check in was quick, both lifts working, which is good as there are 14 floors. The rooms are basic, but very clean - compliments to the housekeeping - and there was a working heating system which was good as it was chilly. Probably needed a spare blanket. Kettle and very basic tea/coffee in the room. If you need food, they can make you a pizza in the bar and there are places around about like McD and Spoons. Better options are probably about 10-15 minutes walk away.

United KingdomNo complaints at all but just one observation; a limited choice of television channels and no signal for BBC! Early on Sunday morning (around 05.00) I noticed a low volume of noise which fortunately did not cause me any great inconvenience. I think this might have come from a bar/club across the road rather than from other hotel guests.
The hotel is a short walk from Reading main railway station and was therefore ideally situated for me. Booking in was a quick and painless process and the provision of two key cards was a bonus as one was in place when re-entering the hotel bedroom at night which meant there was no need to fumble in the dark to switch on the lights! There was an excellent choice in the breakfast room which was appreciated.
