As mentioned in the listing, the property is being renovated so the price for room and parking seemed a bit steep.

We weren't told about the renovations and there being no restaurant and spa before we booked and paid for it due to nothing being on their website or the booking info. After contacting them when we couldn't get through to the spa they did finally change their website and the Booking.com info to inform other future customers. It meant our plans had to change because we weren't able to use the advertised facilities.

The room was a nice size and the bathroom was decent too.

Still having to pay full price despite no restaurant and having to go through a dirty entrance with scaffolding everywhere. Heating not working hence having to use a portable radiator. For a newly renovated room the paint on the bathroom door was flaking off and the furniture was a bit tatty and old.

Currently undergoing renovations so public spaces are a bit unsightly. Had an issue with key card registering in power point. In the end had to have 2 key cards in the socket at all times. No bedside table or shelf on one side of the bed.

It was difficult to assess with the amount of scaffolding around the building. The car park was more difficult to use due to the work vans and it gave a look of a building site.

I have stayed before the renovation work started and I know how lovely the bar, restaurant, gym and spa is. It was just a shame that none of that was open. Also we weren’t told about no food being served until we went down for dinner, when we were told this, the restaurant was set up for evening meals and also smelt very strongly of freshly cooked food, so we were very confused at this. The price per day for parking is too expensive, £9 per day and on the website, booking.com, it says nothing about paying for parking.

I feel that it is overpriced considering the hotel is going through renovations. I would have thought that a reduced price would be more suitable with free breakfast for all guests. Maybe your hotel should also supply a microwave (or at least a toaster) as there is nowhere in Salisbury to get food from at what is deemed a reasonable time outside of Salisbury.

The location was ok. To be honest the great staff really do make this hotel.

Really obvious that the room rates have been reduced to accommodate guests during the renovation works. The double bed was actually two singles pushed together. An Alarm went off in the early morning, which we ignored- not too sure if that was an actual fire alarm of just building work setting it off. We weren't sure of whether the temporary entry doors remained open at night- felt a little insecure of side door being left open without any real security presence. The hotel lacks any sense of character unfortunately, and feels a bit soulless at the moment, which could be due to the renovations.

Location is good. Staff really chatty and friendly. It's obvious that the hotel, when renovated will be premium price. Beds comfortable, showers good; as you'd expect from any standard hotel chain.

There was a bit of a lack of attention to detail - working at the desk meant my husband couldn't watch TV at the same time, the room needs a standard lamp over the separate table. There wasn't anywhere in the shower area to put shower gel or shampoo, meaning you had to put it on the shower floor, which is a risk. The room was really hot and the aircon was fixed at 25 degrees - the dial to change it never changed the temperature. When we checked in it seemed like the receptionist had never met a gay couple and couldn't work out that one room with a double bed was what we wanted.

The room and hotel were very very clean - amazing seeing as it has renovation work going on. The room was very well decorated and the shower was powerful. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in any hotel.
