The single bed was very narrow and the room was tiny so I felt it was overpriced and noisy at night because my room overlooked the street. Also no lift and stair carpet could do with replacing. In the bathroom the window won't stay closed and the loo seat is up against the flush handle. I thought I was booking directly with the hotel but got hijacked by booking.com who made the whole pre-stay experience unpleasant. Deal directly with the hotel.

The breakfast was wonderful and the location would have been excellent had I been on the sea side and not on the noisy main street. The room was comfortable if very tiny. The staff were charming and helpful.

No parking. Quite a hike from parking to the hotel with luggage. Despite refurb since last being there the room is looking tired. No lift so quite a hike to room. No air con or fan and windows not easy to open. Sea view only when standing up.

The carpet in the room felt dirty and was stained. The wardrobe did not accommodate longer length clothes, there was no chair in the room or any hooks to hang outside coats. No extractor in the bathroom and the mirrors steamed up,the radiator in the bathroom there was no way to turn it down just on or off.

The location - we had a town view room so there was noise at night. Some heavy use areas like staircases were looking a bit tired.

The location - overlooking the sea. Our bathroom was amazing space wise - no cramped shower and plenty of room for toiletries etc. Lovely decor throughout. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly.

That such an amazing location probably wouldn't be heatwave friendly. My room was a bit too warm as it was in March and there didn't seem to be anything to 'turn down' or aircon

We only had one evening meal which was so bad we had to send it back. Sounded delicious on the menu but bore no resemblance to the description and tasted undercooked, Wouldn't dine there again, much better to go out to any of the excellent nearby restaurants. A shame because the breakfast is really good and well cooked.

Great location, staff (with one notable exception) friendly, welcoming and helpful. Excellent breakfast in delightful room with attentive and professional staff. Good atmosphere, very busy during our stay but our bedrooms were peaceful and quiet.

Music very loud in the restaurant area, we had an evening meal booked there but it was hard to talk over the music. No fridge in the rooms was disappointing and I think perhaps a warning re very high step over bath for shower facilities as I took elderly parents who only just managed the bathroom facilities.

Minor cleaning issue - stains on light carpet but as the room was perfect otherwise this is a bit nitpicking and of course the stairs which cannot be helped in an older characterful building 🥰 you shouldn’t ask as it was pretty well perfect♥️

The room was nice but a bit small. We found it a bit tricky to control the temperature of the room, the windows didn't open and it got very hot overnight. It would have also been nice to have a mini fridge in the room.

Staff were fantastic, great breakfast options and fantastic location and views.
