Better quality bed linen - thread count was a bit low.

Sparkling clean and lovely staff. The standard room was a comfortable size with a good sized bathroom - not the usual shoe box you get in chain hotels.

On the 30th of december I was the only guest staying, which meant that it was not always easy to find staff (check in/Breakfast), since they were preparing for NYE the following night. This was understandable and pretty minor, with a few more guests in the hotel and no party to prep for I suspect things would have been very different. My room on the top floor was recently refurbished and very clean, but at £130 pn I think it needs a better shower - the electric shower was a bit underpowered.

The staff really make the difference here, they are very personable and welcoming. They were happy to chat with me at the bar after my friends went home, and were very efficient with any questions I had. Location is just a 1 min walk from the seafront with a number of bars and restaurants nearby. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

There was no lift although I was offered help with bags. The room furniture and fittings were basic but clean and comfortable.

Very friendly staff, warm comfortable (if basic,) room. Great shower with toiletries provided. Felt genuinely welcomed. Parking available was a bonus.

Ideal location for a stop off pre or post Eurotunnel. Small car park 50metres away which is free between 6pm and 8am. Room was comfortable and clean and although this is a working pub as well I wasn’t bothered by any noise from the bar or a Christmas party going on.

Being critical, I would like to see more breakfast options. However, what was offered was well cooked to order.

Friendly down to earth staff. The hotel bar is a chilled place to enjoy a leisurely evening drink. Folkestone is only a ten minute bus ride away, with a bus stop right outside the hotel. Saves using the car, and allows a drink or two if dining out! Our room was quite adequate, with a super comfy superking bed. Although on a busy through route traffic was calm at night and did not disturb sleep. We will return!!

Convenient for Channel Tunnel, comfortable, very welcoming and kind hosts.

Hotel has only 7 dedicated car parking spaces which are not reservable, first-come-first-served. On-street parking is available though at rear of hotel so not a deal-breaker as far as we were concerned.

Very handy for Channel Tunnel, just 10 minute drive from terminal. Owners extremely kind, waited until 11.45pm especially for our (3 1/2 hours delayed!!) arrival . Our suite ("Castle View") was really lovely, recently refurbished, clean and very well appointed, bed very comfortable. Good "full English" breakfast.

Mattress on bed very springy could feel springs every time you turned over. Room on the main road. It was very hot so window had to be open but traffic noise very disturbing for a good nights sleep.

Restaurant food very good. Hosts very pleased to help and polite. Close to the Euro Tunnel. Parking at the rear which was good.

There is the main street at the rear front where our room was, but we were not disturbed. So, nothing to complain about.

Well situated near the beach. The room spacious and clean. The owner very friendly. We got the last parking space - and could have enjoyed a live music performance at the hall; in the room there was nothing to be heard.

Expect a pub, do not be surprised when you arrive: you enter through a busy back street and into a noisy pub; but rooms at the back of the building are quiet. No 24h reception, no-one in the morning until after 8am.

Nice room, at the back of the building; but it is essentially a pub, so early risers have to come out through another entrance to which you need to ask a code; right next to a beach and a short walk to Folkestone; parking small but apparently sufficient; owners welcome their guests and make sure they have parking space etc.
