The room was like an oven but I think that was owing to the layout of the hotel as there was no way to circulate air to cool the room down. We eventually had to wedge the door open during the night and open a window in the corridor as the heat was unbearable. Also it was practically impossible to control the temperature in the shower and the water pressure kept dropping to a trickle.

Friendly staff, clean room and good breakfast. Ideal location for an overnight stay if you were passing through but I wouldn’t recommend for more than one night.

The hotel looked a bit run down from outside. The dining room and breakfast room were a bit dark and dated. When we arrived the reception was not very welcoming.

Breakfast was very good, but there was far too much salmon in the salmon and scrambled eggs.

No lift. Bar as mentioned above and its lack of atmosphere.

Nice room with a lovely view. All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent apart from one day when the Full Scottish was rather dried up and dinner was very nice but a little expensive. Drinks in the bar were very expensive so went elsewhere after one drink.

High demand means over-priced. Not especially friendly welcome. Lack of car parking. Room basic and with street noise. Breakfast no more than OK. Attached bar is rough. All in all a bit rough round the edges for £215 per night!

Old-fashioned hotel in the centre of Portree, so good location. Room large, clean and reasonably comfortable. Decent shower. Sort of hotel used by coach parties on tours.

On arrival the receptionist (an older lady) was very abrupt, we knew we were early ( it was bucketing down with rain) we needed to get out of the rain. When other guests arrived after us and approached reception she was abrupt with them too. Not what you want when you first arrive. The parking is a nightmare, we were lucky we got the last place in your car park, other's weren't so lucky. The signposting for the carpark needs to be more visible.

The breakfast was excellent and the waitstaff very accommodating.

There was nothing about the hotel I didn't like. The parking lot was very small ( and our upgraded rental) car wouldn't fit. It was great that they had a dedicated lot at all to accommodate some guests. The prime view area made this very difficult for them to do any differently. Hiwever, they were very helpful in suggesting alternatives.

The staff was very accommodating to our needs. We were early and they helped with storing luggage and recommendations. My husband played a grest game of pool with an off duty employee and had a great time. The food (breakfast and dinner) was exceptional. The choices were varied and delicious.

the rooms would need a bit a refreshment.

the hotel is right in the center of Portree. we had a room with an amazing view on the lock. small advice, if you want to have diner outside, book your restaurant in advance. they are few and they are all booked.
