Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHowever, the housekeeping left a lot to be desired and I think Bespoke Hotels need to invest in new stair carpet! My heart sank as we made our way up to our room on some of the most stained, filthy carpet I have ever seen in a hotel. First impressions do count and we immediately questioned whether we had made the right choice in booking. Our room was quite comfortable with all facilities - tea/coffee making, hairdryer, fan etc but the window sills were dusty and had cobwebs. The bathroom floor badly needed mopping, the bulb replacing in the light over the mirror and the body wash dispenser refilled over the bath but none of this was done during our stay. We asked for the dispenser to be refilled and left the light on so it was obvious that one bulb had gone but to no avail. The dressing table had sticky patches on it which remained throughout our visit. When we arrived on the first evening there was only one tea bag in the kettle area and the loo roll on the holder had just 4 pieces of paper left on it. There was another loo roll provided but it just seemed cheap to leave so little on the roll and did not give confidence that anyone had done the room. An extra tea bag did appear on the following day! These are just small observations and easily sorted with proper staff training and supervision by management. We will not be choosing to stay here again which is a shame as it is such a lovely village and convenient for Wisley.
Recently stayed here as we were attending a show at Wisley Gardens for 5 days and the location could not have been better - 5 minute drive! On the whole we had a reasonably good experience in this historic building, staying in a front room in the main building, with four poster, panelled walls and a fireplace. The public areas were attractively decorated and furnished and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly at breakfast and evening meals. The food was good.

ItalyThe parking is 10£ per night, we asked to check in one hour early and that too was available at 10 GBP per hour. We didn't check in earlier either take the parking, as the price of the room was ok, but not cheap, to add extra money.

United KingdomWas surprised at the £10 car parking as hadn’t read that in the booking details . Also if having a meal there it’s free for 3 hours so by staying the night I feel £5 would be more acceptable.

United KingdomIt was a little rough around the edges and could do with a refurbishment in one or two areas. The cleanliness was adequate but there was a little evidence of previous occupants of the room.
I liked its brilliant location close to the RHS garden at Wisley. The staff were helpful, polite and cheerful. The breakfast was good.

United KingdomHaving to pay for parking when we were hotel guests. Ok for a night but we wouldn’t consider staying for a few nights because the parking charges would mount up considerably. Only two breakfast tea bags supplied in room. Surely the hotel could run to four! We would have liked to have had a cup of tea on arrival but had to save them for the following morning! Some ceiling spotlights not working in the room.
