How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The heat in the room. Was unable to turn heating off, so was melting! Strong smell of bleach in toilet. I appreciate things need to be clean but this was toooooo much.
Spacious rooms. Restaurant downstairs. Late check out.

Nice clean bedroom with everything you’d expect. Bathroom was well equipped and looked new. Breakfast was included which was plentiful and delicious. Parking was simple just outside your room too.

Clean comfortable and warm - my only minor gripe is the bathroom was inlet into the room and though it was sparkling cleaned and functioned perfectly, it was narrow and a bit snug for a big person - I managed!
I was really well received (arrived early) and shown to the room by a friendly manager. Parking had to be registered and all was done.The restaurant was very popular and fully booked - so if you want to eat quality Vietnamese food, you might want to book. I slept well and the environs were quiet. I took a walk in the area and felt very comfortable. Lots of pubs local to the place and the Hole in the Wall opposite was recommended.

Nothing really: we were disappointed that the lovely Hoi An Restaurant affiliated to the hotel was closed on the Sunday that we arrived. We had specifically returned to the hotel from last year for the food! The Owners did advise us by e mail that the restaurant would be closed.
The location of the hotel was excellent. The breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed eating it in the pleasant light breakfast room. We appreciated the kettle in the room. Our room was a good size and looked fresh and clean: in fact, it looked recently renovated.

Not the best parking facilities - I had a very big truck and could not park on the premises for two of the nights I stayed.
Really lovely restaurant and wonderful vegan options.

Headboard, top sticks out into your head when sitting on the bed

I suppose a lift in the property would have been a bonus!!
Room was excellent-recently refurbed, I think. When they saw my husband had Walking stick, they offered us ground floor room. Breakfast very good-- perfect scranbled eggs!!!

My only gripe was a loud hum that came and went throughout the whole building. Not sure if it was a water tank, but it was loud.
Lovely staff, nice room and very clean. Breakfast was great and it was perfectly placed for a gig at St Petrocs church and a stroll around the town.

Would have liked a blind in bathroom window as the sun was blinding reflecting in mirror first thing in the morning. Could hear person in bedroom next to us snoring all night.
Good full English. Pretty dining room. Quick service as you indicate what you would like day before.

Unfortunate no bar or restaurant on Sundays.
Location convenient for the town centre. Parking easy and within hotel grounds. Comfortable room. Good breakfast- cereals & choice of full English cooked to order.

It was cold and the room heater hasn’t been put on before our arrival so had to get ready in a cold room, food was taken to the wrong room which was ok but we were blamed even though we’d 100% told them the right room number. Lady who blamed us was also rude to another member of staff in front of us.. felt she needed to work on her customer service and how to talk to other colleagues. She was nice just a bit unprofessional.
Near to bodmin jail where we were going and had a restaurant in the hotel. Most staff were really helpful and friendly
