Breakfast, room cleaning every day (I stayed in a dorm), huge common spaces, friendly staff - I didn't party but I really liked that hostel was not dead - there were people around, also in the bar area - so in the evenings it wasn't very quiet but that is OK for me :)) so if you want a little of both - quiet and social - you can find it here :) also - very good wifi!

The bedroom dormitory was so hot, the beds were very comfortable but unfortunately the heat made it very difficult to sleep despite having the a fan on. (I was there 5 nights in may)

Friendly staff, great vibes, clean bathrooms and great clean kitchen. Lots of space outside to relax, work or socialise.

The bathrooms! Biggest shower space I have come across in guatemala. Very clean! Staff were awesome. It's a bit of a party hostel but dorms have curtains and are big enough that you don't notice people coming in and out. Overall great vibe, wish I could of stayed longer.

Bad WiFi in my room. No air con. Bathroom small window had no mosquito netting so it’s always exposed to outside allowing frenzy of mosquitos to enter.

We had an incident with the toilet, it flooded and water went out to the hallway, the staff was aware and were working on it when we departed!

We loved the atmosphere, friendliness and opens door policy in regards to kitchen and facilities! We felt very at home during our stay, I would go back to maya papaya for sure!

The cleanest and cutest bathroom I have been in. I love how they have activities to help travellers socialise but they also end early enough for a good night’s rest. The staff are super nice as well and the location is perfect 👌

Everything was wonderful: Beds were very comfortable and had convenient outlets, showers and common spaces were excellent. Great breakfast options. Staff was very friendly and I met lots of cool other guests. Would absolutely recommend for a stay in Antigua.

One small drawback: because of the garbage can, the toilets are small enough to sit comfortably.

Everything ! Enough space in the room . Hot shower with bench inside to bring all our belongings. Amazing breakfast with 3 different options. Wonderful staff, very friendly with good vibe. The outside area is good for relaxing. I would have loved to have stayed for the whole of my stay in antigua but unfortunately it was fully booked.

Our room was very small for two people and our bags, and quite loud at the back of the building. We only had a small internal window in our room that went into the corridor but no curtain on it so in the night woke a lot with people turning on bathroom and other lights. We didn’t get told there were other toilets and showers so waited a lot for the one near our room until we found the others by accident.

Really well located and beautiful hostel. The breakfast is fantastic and the staff very friendly and helpful. Showers also are great- hot and strong.

The guy that had been working while I was staying there doing the early morning shifts was not friendly and couldn’t really care. Some of us had to leave for a hike and we all ordered right on 7am and our food was sitting in the kitchen ready to go still at 7:20 once I got up to check as he was in reception on his phone. He wasn’t friendly taking our orders either. Short responses.

Wow - what can I say about Maya Papaya, except that the staff made the experience for us. Hector was the friendliest and chattiest bar keep with an epic energy and really, really good margaritas with a big smile. He has been working there 6 years and loves the place and you can tell. We stayed in a private compact room and it was super clean and comfortable with great bedding and fast internet. The place has been really well thought out and has a games room and hammocks and the free breakfast is really delicious and filling. I honestly couldn’t fault the place - it was the best hostel either of us had stayed at because of the friendly staff and the general set up. They’ve nailed it. 10/10.

It's one of the best hostels I've been! The facilities are very modern, there is a lot of space to chill and socialise, but what makes it a great place is the people who work there (from the cleaners, the ladies who cook the delicious breakfast, to the reception/bar staff, all of them 10/10) Had such an amazing time! Will definitely be back :)

Everything and everyone here are fabulous. Staff are great fun and the place is super clean and breakfast is good. Beds are nice, showers are excellent, internet is good. Free salsa on Thursday is lots of fun. I don't want to leave

My room was next to the bar so I heard the conversations occurring just outside of my room. Lights out was at a decent time so this wasn’t too much of an issue.

Staff are super friendly and helpful here which makes for a really lovely stay. The beds are so comfortable and dorm rooms are really spacious with great lockers to fit all your bags and belongings in. Beds have everything you need (curtain for privacy, personal lamp, shelf and socket to charge your devices). The property is very clean and the bathrooms are the nicest hostel bathrooms I’ve ever used. Never had to wait to use to the bathroom or shower and there’s plenty of hot water. Common areas are really nice and the free breakfast is amazing. Make sure you stay here 😁
