Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Can not complain about anything!
Everything was super clean and organized! You can find everything that you need. We got fresh towels after a few days of use, which was amazing!

Small studio placed in a quiet neighbourhood next to the city centre. Although it is an annex of the main house, the apartment is very private. Very clean overall. Well-equipped kitchenette. Own terrace with a BBQ. Public free parking 2 min away by foot. The city centre is a 15 min walk. Excellent communication with the host.

Great location & great host. This is a fantastic location to visit Zadar town , which is about 10 minutes walk or use as a base to visit local attractions. Very helpful host..thank you! 😊

We had a lovely week in Apartments Aria. What should be mentioned first is how welcome we were made to feel from day one by Jerina. Throughout the week we were left freshly picked figs from the garden, (where you might see the occasional turtle by the way) and Jerina gave recommendations of how to navigate Zadar like a local. It was extremely clean and well stocked. It has a small iron and hairdryer incidentally before you worry about bringing them. It feels very safe living there and we’d go back in a heartbeat. Thank you again!

It is a little walk from the center (20-25min). But it's a nice and safe walk.
The apartment is very big with a large bed and a separate kitchen. We received all the instructions in advance so we could check-in when we arrived. There's a parking very close in case there's no space in the street.

Nothing, it was great!
It was beautiful, spacious, the owner was really lovely and even gave us a bottle of local wine. The room was comfortable and location good, not a far walk to old town and the beaches.

The apartment was very nice and an own small „house“. All was very clean and we enjoyed to have breakfast at the patio. It was very quiet and nice atmosphere directly next to the nice garden of the owners. It is close to oldtown (approximately 10-15 minutes walk), so no car is needed to go to the city center. Bakeries and supermarkets are very close (approximately 3 minutes). Thank you again for making our time in Zadar perfect and also for the delicious figs we got. 😊

I liked the hospitality of the owners- exceptionally helpful people! They greeted us with a smile and a lovely treat.We had a great stay.I highly recommed it.The apartment is spacious with a private area outside where you can spend a lovely evening.Privacy guaranteed.The old town is within a 7 minute walk.Really close!!!! Very friendly owners!!!! :)

We wanted to grill kebabs, but unfortunately, we don't have a barbecue grill.

Spent more time!
We spent two (2) nights here during our month long stay in Croatia. We really enjoyed our time in Zadar and wished we could have stayed longer. The apartment was easy to find and our hostess was on site to meet us as she lived in a unit above the rental. The apartment was located on the ground floor and the back terrace faced the garden, a lovely, tranquil area to enjoy my first coffee of the day while planning that day’s activities. The kitchen was well appointed and we prpared one (1) supper and our breakfasts on site. There were several grocery stores nearby and parking was available right in front of the apartment on the street. The apartment was located in a residential area, about a 20 minute walk to the pedestrian bridge that entered Old Town. Parking around Zadar was very affordable and widely available during the time we visited should you decide to drive in. The bedroom was quite large with plenty of storage space or space just to spread out. The TV also had Netflix available. The bathroom was located at the other end of the unit so early risers need not disturb a partner who wish to sleep in.
