Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

They used so much starch when cleaning the towels that they were hard and uncomfortable to use.
Very close to the promenade, restaurants,shops and easy access to main road if you want to go on an excursion. The beach is also really close where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset.

Super easy check in and check out. Very friendly and helpful host. Place is very clean, comfortable and quiet. Kitchen is very nice and fully equipped, there is everything you need.Every detail in the unit and outside was done with love and thought. Really enjoyed staying here and will return again.

Heh. I would keep such a finding in secret, but have to be honest and appreciate the owner efforts. It is too good, too cozy, too lovely. Decorating of the apartment and the building in general are amazing. Balcony view is better than pictures, beds and lining are good. We would stay there more but had other travel plans already pre-booked... Would return again if price remains reasonable. Thanks for hosts for such experience

Gina - Owner of this apartment was waiting for us and shown us apartment. In the fridge we found small refreshment after long journey, It was very big surprise for us. Gina is amazing person, very nice and helpful. Apartment is situated in very good location, in the center of Makarska. Everything is near, beach, restaurants, promenade , markets, bakeries. Everything was perfect. I really recommend it! Gina, thank you for everything! Hope to see you again.

Everything was perfect!
The apartament was really nice, super clean, with very well equipped kitchen and a nice balcony with a view, where one can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The bed was very comfortable. The hosts were really welcoming, nice and helpful. They showed us where the nice places to eat or shop are. The villa is localized in the center of the town, about 100 m from the seafront. There are supermarkets, bakeries and restaurants around. The beach is very close too. There is a parking in front of the villa. And there is a lift. :)

Everything was perfect 🙂 maybe the weather could be sloghtly better but we were aware it could be rainy and windy in March.
Hospitality and the apartament itself were above our expectations. The place is perfect located in the centre of Makarska, close to everywhere 🙂

Everything was really great.
The property is located in the core centre of the city. Close to everything you need. Very clean rooms, bathrooms and kitchen. The apartment had everything you need. Hosts were amazing. I had some questions before checking in and all of the questions were answerred promptly. I would higly recommend the property and the host to anybody who is planing to stay in Makarska.

Great location, parking place in front of the building. The building is nice, clean, nicely decorated, and has a lift for easy access. The apartment is spacious, nicely decorated and clean. The kitchen isn't the biggest, but has all the amenities you could need. The AC worked great , wifi too. The owners are kind and helpful. All in all, we had a great time.

Nothing really
First of all the location is great, about 100m from the sea and a leisurely 5 minute walk from the beach, central market and playground. The building is in the flat central part of town, which is particularly important in Makarska, where most of the apartments are way uphill. The building is nice, clean (newly renovated) and has a lift for easy access. There's enough parking spaces in front for all the residents, which again is a huge plus in a town full of tourists. The apartment is spacious, nicely decorated and clean. The kitchen isn't the biggest, but has all the amenities you could need (incl. a dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster etc). The balcony is large enough for a table with 4 chairs and shaded most of the day, so we ended up eating most of meals there. The AC worked great (and was needed give the outside temperatures). The WiFi is fast and stable, we could reliably stream HD video. The owners are kind and forthcoming without being intrusive. They inquired several times if we needed anything via booking massages and were happy to oblige. All in all, we had a great vacation, and will be coming back for sure.
