Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Nothing really. It was a little out of the main centre (which we knew when booking), but only a ten minute walk around a couple of coves and there were fantastic water views the whole way.
Very spacious, modern and clean, but with great character. The view from the large opening window over the boat ramp and cove was superb. The owner who met us was very nice and obliging.

It’s close to the main part of Hvar Town, but not so close so that you are disturbed by noise. It’s clean and shower is good.

Apartment was well equipped, in a fantastic location close to everything, wonderful sea view, clean, great outdoor seating area and owned by a lovely, friendly family. Has lots of extras to make your stay even better and had a great homely feel. Would highly recommend and hope to return.

Super friendly staff, and spacious apartment! Upon arrival, the hostess explained us the basics about the area and gave us recommendations. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking home if you want. The best is nice with a semi-soft matress. Nice view from the window too to the sea.

Noise from docks was a bit loud one of the mornings. Hot water did run out fast when showering and smoke from other people smoking in the patio did drift in but overall a good deal.

Nothing, it was perfect
We loved it! really spacious and comfortable apartment. Really clean and well equipped, and the location was perfect: a 10 minute walk through the promenade to the city center, and a nice view from the bedroom. The host was great, gave us a lot of tips and information on our arrival. Definitely recommend!

This is an amazing place with amazing views. Kitchen super well equipped, had our own little terrace with lots of plants, good space and flat just a nice walk away from the city center.

We loved it all! It is the cleanest room I have ever been. In front og the beach, good bed, had shampoo and everything you need. The refrigerator and air conditional works as well at it should be. We enjoy it and will be back!

If you are a light sleeper, which me and my wife are not, this could be a problem if you want to sleep with the windows open, your on the first row to the sea, so there can be some noise from pleasure seekers well into the am going into and back from town... Not an issue at all if you sleep with windows shut... AC works well and apartment is well insulated from noise in that respect... that's the only negative thing I can think of, that might bother some people, was not an issue for us, we even left the windows open.
Location is perfect, close to everything you need, city, market, great beach to swim and snorkel within 2 minute walk from front door, cafe next door for morning coffee, strong ac, decent wifi, full tv package, turtles, Labrador lives on property, epic garden, secure, beds super comfortable, nice pillows, view of marina from bedroom windows, small but fully functional kitchen, CLEAN, great spacious patio in the shade, love the view of the hillside from the terrace... Lukarecia is also a very nice host, eager to help, we stayed for 3 weeks... You can have the boat taxis pick you up at the gas station dock across the street to get out to the islands for lunch, dinner, or whatever adventure you can imagine, this dock takes 2 minutes to walk to from front door, very cool :). Boat, kayak, scooter rentals avail on site..I could go on forever.

The apartment was in a great location and easy to walk everywhere. Lukrecia gave me all the tips needed - locations of everything and recommendations that were good excellent. The apartment itself was extremely clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. Excellent value for money and supremely safe and comfortable.

temperate wouldn’t regulate due to the air conditioning being in the kitchen, it struggled to heat up the bedroom from so far away so we couldn’t stay warm in the night. also 1 sheet and two blankets didn’t suffice. large duvet is needed
