Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaA little difficult to fine there could've been more description on how to find the location and it was very noisy my room faced a courtyard with a restaurant underneath it and lots of pedestrian traffic and church bells started at four in the morning on the hour and half hour.
Location was amazing. See photos attached, the three arches is where the property is.The owner was very nice. the room and bathroom we're clean.

United KingdomLocation is a little loud throughout the night as it is a busy area, but that wasn't too much of an issue for me personally. You get used to the bells after a night or two! Access to the attic rooms is via a very steep staircase which can be a bit awkward when you've got luggage, or if you've been up and down several of Dubrovnik's staircases during the day!
Amazing location, landlady is very kind and helpful, decent sized room. Lots of local amenities and an awesome (if a little pricey) ice cream stand just outside the hotel.

TurkeyOutdoor noise very loud, church bells ringing every hour and resturant noise underneath you. Dont expect to have a quiet nights rest here. The toilet inside the house is a bit inconvenient, you have to enter someone's home and use their toilet which feels really intrusive when you have early tours in the mornings.
The location was the best part about it. It is in the old port.

Netherlandsthe housewife brings a lot of stress for us! we are on vacation! so we don't want to worry about electricity prices in Croatia, or the wet bathroom. the payment also went very bad, we had to have a very long discussion with the woman before she accepted with bookings prices. she charges us extra €10/day for using the air conditioning. the air conditioning does not always work optimally because the electricity network in the house is very old. the woman came to our room when we were not at home, to turn off the air conditioning. the room itself is ok. the beds are very bad and not provided with good blanket. we sometimes had to sleep with game animals in the old attic. it was not top experience. only the location was very good. Oh yes speaking about the location .. the sound insulation in the room is very bad so you can hear everything. so before midnight is almost impossible to sleep. and then you know starts very early in the morning.

AustraliaWe didn’t have any hot water, so quick showers were had.
if you are looking for location, you can’t be any better. it is right on the port in old town. The lady who owns the property is very lovely. we spent most of our time outside exploring, so if you are looking for a bed and shower in a great location, this place is perfect.

IrelandI felt it was a bit misrepresented. I knew it was a shared bathroom, which was supposed to be with the double room next door. However the bathroom is actually in the landlady's apartment. So basically every time you want to use the bathroom it means trekking into a completely different apartment. And while there was no one in the double room next door the bathroom was basically shared with the whole apartment as well as the two rooms. It also meant that using the bathroom late at night was challenging as you're worried about disturbing the whole building as you try and navigate unlocking the various doors with the torch on your phone. At one point I was told I was flushing the toilet too hard. Seemingly I could put less pressure on the flushing mechanism. But again, if it was a shared bathroom between the two rooms this wouldn't be a problem. However, as I said it was in the landlady's apartment and right beside her bedroom. It was actually more an air b'n'b than a standalone room. Also, the room itself was a partition wall with a door in it. But the partition doesn't actually go to the ceiling. There is a gap of about a foot. This means you have absolutely no privacy to make phonecalls etc as everything will clearly be heard by the room next door. It also means even watching shows on your laptop is extremely disturbing for anyone in the other room. While the location is fantastic it is extremely noisy. The listing says there is a restaurant in the complex. It doesn't say you are right above that restaurant. There is pretty much non stop noise from extremely early in the morning. The bins being moved around sound like a thunderstorm and between deliveries and restaurant prep there is no chance of a lie in or just even sleeping beyond about 5am. The listing also says live music nightly. Again this is in the restaurant. And is actually not just at nighttime but most of the day. Right below the window.
The landlady was very nice. On a couple of years ocassions she dropped me large plates of fruit to my room. The location was super and the WiFi was fast although I had to use the restaurant WiFi as I couldn't get the apartment WiFi working.

United States of AmericaAll of the many negative reviews you see for this property were true. The host does indeed try to overcharge you, and does not respect the price Booking sets. The host does go in your room when you're not there. Booking gives both the host and the guest the price in Euro which is kind of annoying because payment is in cash in Croatian currency (Kuna) and the host uses her own conversion rate. I asked Booking to give me the price in Kuna (having read the reviews about her overcharging people) and Booking told me the price. When I tried to pay her, she refused to accept it and told me a higher price based on her own conversion rate. When I reported this to Booking, they were unhelpful and told me they "would email the host" and did not get back to me with an outcome. *Be aware this is not a hotel, this is a homestay in someone's apartment.
The location is exceptional. It's right on the water next to the old port and you can see the city wall right in front of the window. Really fanstastic. Because of the location, it is very loud at night because when the bars close all the drunk people go hang out at the port right outside your window, but for me that was ok and expected with the location. This was the best price I found for a location right in the old town.

AustraliaAfter reading the reviews just before going to bed they are true! The landlady has a key to rooms upstairs. As we were out for dinner enjoying our night thinking our belongings were safe the landlady who only spoke mainly Croatian let herself in our room and closed the windows and turned off the aircon that we left on to cool the room as it was so hot being high up in the attic. We were sent a message to not turn the aircon on. It felt like a major breach in our privacy as she let herself in our room without us being there. We slept with things I front of the door worried she would enter again without our knowledge. It made us feel very uncomfortable knowing she did that whilst we were out. Lucky we were only there for the night. We were also charged extra upon arrival due to some nonsense of only being there for one night and bookings.com not adding that to their price when we booked? I definitely wouldn’t stay there again due them having access to your room your paying for and them enetering when your not there. Massive breach of privacy.
Location was great close to main part of the city.

United KingdomIt wasn't easy to see how to access the actual accommodation or who to speak to when I arrived and I had to ask in the restaurant below. An email with instructions would have helped. Also I was expecting to pay by card but told this wasn't possible, so I needed to get cash. Again a warning via email would have helped me with this. But on the whole it is a very good place to stay and the landlady was very nice.
The location was excellent. Really easy to find when I arrived and brilliant for all the attractions of Dubrovnik. It was especially handy if I just needed to relax for an hour vbefore going back out into all the excitement of the city.

Germany- shared bathroom was in the flat of the land lord - price discussions later on (tried to charge extra for some facilities eg fan usage 5€ / night, used very weird exchange rate and in the end they wanted c. 20% above the agreed booking price (she said booking price is only the provision and doesn’t cover her costs …she could have been more transparent with the price eben checking in and not when checking out) - The landlord was a bit weird - she seemed a bit overwhelmed and unwelcoming (sometimes welcoming… you never new what happened next) - landlord entered randomly the room and opened windows without previous notice (we didn’t like that)
Location was located in the old town next to the hab our which was super nice! However, you could hear the music all night and it was very loud …

Belgium- it’s extremely noisy, the apartment is at the attic above a restaurant. There is a live band playing at the restaurant and it stays loud until 4-5 am. The city bells are also situated across the building, banging every half hour - it’s extremely hot in the attic, making you to open the window, making it even more noisy. If you ask the landlady for the airconditioning, she first gives you the feeling that you’re rude to ask for it and demands 10 euro per night. This is way too much, especially when the airconditioning is then even not working. - there is a miscommunication between the host and the landlady. The hosts speaks English, the landlady doesn’t, and keeps continuing to you in Croatian although you have no idea where she’s talking about. The host is not there so you always need to ask her to call the landlady. The landlady also enters your room without you being there or suddenly climbs up the stairs shouting if you drop the toilet seat on accident. She only gives you one toilet paper roll and complains if you ask for more. -price quality is imbalanced, too much for too little - you need to pay in euro, so need to do a lot of effort to get euros in a country that has kunas. The landlady let us also pay 7 euros more than the price on booking.
only the location in old town.
