Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IsraelThere is no kettle in the apartment, which is extremely annoying. Had to use the pots to boil water. There are also no pans, so if you want some eggs for breakfast - use the pots, again. Which we did. There's no toaster either. Only one set of keys, so if you are in a group and want to split for the day - that's gonna be an issue. The water smells of chlorine for some reason, this might be a thing for Budapest in general, or might be specific to the apartment. Cannot comment further on that. Overall the apartment wasn't very clean, somewhat rundown - paint pealing off of cabinets, drawers falling off. But these are all relatively minor issues.
The location of the property is great. Public transport is nearby, the airport shuttle is also quite near, 15 minutes by walk at most. We didn't even use the public transport much, the location of the apartment is pretty good relative to attractions, and we like to walk.

United States of AmericaThe appliances in the kitchen were ok. We were cooking a meal in the stove and it blew a fuse a couple of times. We also had to ask for a toaster that worked, twice but the response was quick and resolved nicely. The living room floor was a bit dirty under the sofa so we asked for someone to come and clean this and they sent someone right away to clean/mop the floor.
The location of the apartment was perfect, close to the Astoria Metro and on Rakoczki Utca, so supermarkets and restaurants were abundant in the Jewish Quarter. The Welcome Budapest representative responded quickly to all of our questions and requests via WhatsApp. The weather was unusually warm for April so we were able to get the air conditioning turned on in our apartment early - they usually don't have access until May. It was nice to have a clothes washer in the unit, and free laundry soap was provided when we asked for it.

As a return guest I highly recommend the apartment. Easy booking, nice communication, all information arrived on time. Great location, bus stops at the front of the building, metro 5 min walk, airport express bus 10 min walk, Tesco store 1 min walk. Lift in the building, easy check in and out. Flat was clean and comfortable as usual. See you soon again!

IsraelThe water in the shower took a long time to go down the drain - perhaps a bit blocked. We couldn't get the toaster to work. Quite noisy on the side facing the main road. (But nice and quiet in the 2 bedrooms on the courtyard side.)
Easy to find, even late at night. Very good instructions how to access the key and the apartment. The pictures and the descriptions on the website were very accurate. The communication with the owners was excellent - they replied promptly to every email, and with all necessary information. Very comfortable and conveniently located.

United KingdomWhile having a huge fridge/freezer and a cooker size fit for a big family kitchen, there was not one saucepan. There was one tiny frying pan. So really, I couldn’t cook anything even though it was a self-catering apartment. Not good. You ask about staff - what staff? I asked for air conditioning but got nothing. The apartment was on one of the busiest streets in Budapest with 6 lanes of traffic - the noise day and night was horrendous!!! The sun came in my windows all day. I had to try and keep the curtains closed to keep out the sun ( the time I was there it was well into the 30’s every day) but windows open for some air and all the time - the traffic. All the traffic plus Sirens from police, ambulance roaring up and down the street day and night made me feel like I was being tortured. That is no exaggeration. It was absolutely awful. With the air conditioning that I had requested, I could at least have kept the windows closed. I was a visitor but not a tourist. I was there for the World Athletics. If I was a tourist, the location was perfect but as I wasn’t, the location didn’t matter.
Clean, comfortable with almost everything a person would need.

New ZealandThe only thing we didn’t rate was the bedding. It smelt like duvets and covers weren’t dry properly and chucked on the beds damp. Which made it awful to smell before going to sleep. But we were drunk most the time so got over that quickly. Would prefer to get some new towels. But it’s just small things. And we did have to clear out our shower drain. Cause it was always blocking. Other than that everything else was amazing.
Loves the lay out. It was everything we needed and more. The property is pretty central to some major stations. There’s supermarkets across the road and a tesco next door which made it easy to go out and grab bits and pieces. We cooked breakfast there most mornings and the kitchen had everything we needed. The staff there were amazing. Would message them about something and they would get back straight away with solutions which I felt thankful for as we arrived pretty late. Aircon was good to have especially when the temp was in the early 30s most days. Close to some ruin bars just down the road and some good eateries. Location is perfect. But busy on the main drag but that didn’t bother us as all. Plenty of space in the wardrobes.

TurkeyThe wifi isn't amazing but does the job. Bathroom towels have seen better days. Due to the nature of the building, the floors are a little creaky so not ideal if you're a light sleeper.
The apartment is in an excellent location, close to numerous shops, bars, cafes etc. with a lovely little balcony where you can sit to drink your morning coffee (or evening night cap) and watch the world go by. The building is generally quiet and clean and the air/con works perfectly in the hot weather. The hosts are highly responsive and seem happy to do what they can to fulfil any requests.

ItalyThe apartment was in a great location, a few minutes walk from the buzzing centre of Pest, close to local amenities and metro and tram lines. The apartment was a good size and clean and comfortable. Even though we did not see the owners they always replied promptly to our questions and were very sweet having left us a bottle of Hungarian Rosè to welcome us. Check in, check out and finding keys were very simple. All in all a great place to spend a short or long break.
