Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaAdjacent bathroom toilet had flushing issues and dripped all night.
The staff, especially Brenda went out of their way to welcome and make sure we were well taken care of. Helped with the property mountain bikes. The room was spacious and adequate.

United States Minor Outlying IslandsMy stay was too short.
Sean and Brenda were very welcoming and made sure I had all I needed as a solo traveler with a knee injury. The room was bright, clean and warm. The lodge was located to some of the islands most popular sites

IrelandIt may not be a right choice for those who mind sound of other guests as it is a small cozy B&B. Phone signal was weak in the area but WiFi connection in the guest room was good.
Very friendly and caring host (Sean) and staff. I loved the location which is isolated but within hiking distance to some major attractions such as Dun Aonghasa, The Worm Hole and Kilmurvey Beach. From my room and from the lovely shared space I enjoyed the fantactic view of Dun Aonghasa in the distance throughout the day. Starry sky at night was amazing.

FinlandThe location was amazing! The views from the lodge were breathtaking, and it was close to main attractions of the island. The best thing about our stay was our host Brenda, she really made us feel welcome and taken care of in the lodge! Such a sweet and kind spirit. The comforts in the lodge were amazing, we had the best sleep in there.

IrelandThe welcome we received was lovely Sean, and the girls are lovely people and made us feel at home. The location on the bnb is a bit away from the harbour. I definitely suggest renting an electric bike from the bike hire shop at the harbour to get around. We had a lovely stay, and breakfast was lovely and filled us for the day. We could have tea or coffee all day. We sat in the sitting room at night and watched telly it was like we were at home it was great. We will be back again. Thank you for having us.

United States of AmericaVery very little. We really enjoyed our stay. One thing to note is that we arrived in the evening on a Friday and the taxi cab that had been recommended to us was not operating - this is not a problem from the Lodge, just a note. The restaurant/pub we dined at called us a cab. It might be helpful to pre-arrange transportation if you're arriving at night as it was pitch black when we visited in late October.
Sophia was lovely and greeted us when we arrived with excellent information and made us feel right at home. The next morning, she cooked us a lovely breakfast which fueled us for our bike ride around the island. The location is incredible. You look out the front door and the main attractions are within walking/biking distance. It is approximately a 15-20 minute car ride from the ferry. Sean, the owner, was so kind and took us to our ferry ride early Sunday morning. Very much appreciated!

FranceBear in mind that it is a long walk to Kilronan, the only place where you'll find food in the evening. But a taxi or bike ride is easy, or just grab a sandwich or some food to go at lunch time from nearby Teach Na Phaidí and stay cosy in. The floorboards are squeaky clean but also just squeaky, which means you might be aware of your next door neighbours. Nothing a good pair of earplugs can't deal with. The comfy bed and the wonders of the day might just have you sleeping before you care about the noise!
The staff there was so kind and helpful! Thank you Sean and Sophia! I loved that the lodge was a bit isolated from the rest. The surroundings are so so peaceful. It is also a quick walk to Kilmurvey and its treasures and not far from the wormhole (ask Séan for directions!). The bed was so comfy! The mattress was just the right firmness, the duvet super fluffy and warm, the sheets really soft and the pillows chunky like you need! It was so lovely to be able to rest so comfy after a long and lovely day on the island. The roller blinds are great to make the night last longer too. The whole place is roomy, cosy with no frills, and clean. The best bit might be the cuddly black kitty that lives around the premises!

CanadaIt was as expected. Might be too quiet for some guests. Or too remote as you will need a ride or bike to get to Kilronan...but it was perfect for us!
It's located near some stunning sites. And any from the busyness of Kilronan and the daytrippers. Very peaceful and close to nature and history. We rented sturdy mountain bikes and did lots of riding on some rough rocks...tires held up!

United States of AmericaI loved everything about my stay. The host and staff were all helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. The area is perfect for some rest, peace, and quiet. It is near many of the main attractions on the island including ths fort, beach, seven churches, waterhole, and more are a short walk away. Plenty of reading nooks and the bed felt like a cloud. I rented a bike to get around in and it was well worth it. The breakfast was delicious and tea and coffee was always available. I even extended my stay because I was so in love with the lodge and realized I needed more time to fully enjoy it. If you're looking for a quiet place to meditate, rest, read, or simply enjoy the beauty of the Aran Islands this is the place for you.

United States of AmericaJust that it was a ways from the village and restaurants, etc., but the peacefulness compensated for it.
Room was large and light, bed very comfortable, and Sean was genuinely nice and attentive to our needs. The location was somewhat remote, which we expected & getting to a bit of a challenge with luggage, but with Sean’s assistance, we managed without a problem. The lodge is walkable close to many of the island’s attractions, including Dun Aonghasa. We would stay there again gladly.

IrelandThoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect for us with Dun Aonghasa, the Wormhole & Kilmurvey beach all within a short distance from the lodge. Seán was a great host & was very forthcoming with information on the local area & arranging taxis for us into the village. Having the option to rent bikes at the lodge was an added bonus, great way to get around the island. Great views surrounding the lodge also & a very comfy relaxing area downstairs.
