Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Nothing. Bit out of town but nice rural feel.
Best supplied room we’ve had in 6 weeks. Everything one needed was supplied including a complimentary bottle of wine crackers and cheese as a welcome. I am gluten free and Jo had supplied gf savoury and sweet crackers and beautiful bread. Lots of options for breakfast left for us both. Wonderful. We also had our car breakdown in town and Jo ripped into town with jumper leads. Both wonderful hosts.

Graisin was a wonderful accommodation. I would give it a 5 star rating. The hosts could not have been more friendly and helpful. Jo had the room fully stocked with wonderful food, a bottle of wine and homemade bread and scones. When we were concerned about driving back into Kilkenny she took us in and picked us up both days of out stay, which went above and beyond anything we would have ever expected. Her husband, Jim, offered to have us follow him out of town upon departure to be sure we got to the correct highway. Since we had a GPS system available we did not need to accept his very generous offer. Super accommodations and wonderful people. Highly recommend this place to other Ireland tourists.

Fabulous little hideaway only a few minutes from Kilkenny city. Well presented and the Jo and Jim went over and above to ensure a pleasant and memorable stay. A real home away from home. As a former hotel and accommodation reviewer, I have no hesitation in recommending the property and the hosts.

There wasn't anything not to like. You need a car to say here.
The room was welcoming and cosy. There was a well equipped kitchen and fridge and cupboards all stocked for breakfast. The bottle of wine and chocolates were a lovely welcoming gesture.

Not one thing, this stay was as close as to perfection as you can get,!
Absolutely amazing, so calm and quiet, tranquil. Jo was an amazing host and thought of everything to make your stay so comfortable, I didn't want to go home.

The hosts were so hospitable and there were lots of treats in the kitchen and in the living area. The BnB was well stocked and clean with lots of little messages. The beds and pillows were very comfy and there is a nice little garden area behind the unit. Jo also drove us into town the first night we arrived and oriented us around Kilkenny. There were slices / treats for afternoon tea on a couple of days when we got back from our travels. Jo and Jim are wonderful hosts and we will go back and stay when we visit Ireland again.

This was our first stay in Ireland and it set the bar very high. Jo, is fabulous. It’s a bit far from town but she drove us in and picked us up both nights of our stay. We loved it here, the property is so charming and we were more than comfortable. 100/10

A Very cosy, cute cottage. Jo went the extra mile to ensure our stay was comfortable. Decor was amazing and all the extra treats, wine, choc etc so appreciated.

All was great!
we loved it here! Jo was so welcoming. The room is very comfy. Great shower. Nice garden to sit in. The breakfast food was great! Loved the fresh fruit. The pub next door was fun. We had two interesting evenings there. I had never seen hurling before and they were great to explain.

I liked everything, but here are some notes in case other people might find them useful: The shower is a little small, so a bigger or taller person might not feel comfortable in it. It's a short drive to Kilkenny town. If you don't like "live laugh love" signs, it won't be your vibe. This is such a wonderful place that any shortcomings are easily overlooked.
Jo and Jim were incredibly sweet and generous hosts. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel like family. The amenities included in the room were above and beyond my expectations, and the sleep I got in that bed was marvelous. I liked being able to choose my own breakfast. Jo was kind enough to explain how the microwave egg cookers worked and it was fun to use those. Everything I needed and more was at my fingertips. I would love to have stayed longer. I hear Jo and Jim are wonderful singers/musicians as well, so I must return for that. :)

Nothing apart from fact that Google maps took me astray
Everything was absolutely fabulous! The Hostess was simply gorgeous and went to great lengths to help. I'm coeliac and she had a huge range of special food for me for the breakfast plus lots of beautiful fresh fruit. Everything was provided milk bread free range eggs and hosts are so charming and helpful. I will definitely be returning for a holiday when I can chill out and enjoy her lovely home from home.
