Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandNothing I can think of.
Very nice hotel and Spa, located just a short drive deim Cork city centre in a nice part of the city surrounded by parks and residential area. The hotel grounds are beautiful, nice gardens with lots of flowers and it is quiet, even though there is a busy road just next to the hotel. The staff was absolutely great, arranged the rose petals in the room and greeted us with a bottle of bubbly and cake for our anniversary. We booked the dinner in Bellini's, a hotel restaurant, and the food was amazing. Again, two glasses of prosecco from the restaurant were complimentary. We were so grateful when the receptionist went above and beyond to help us identify the tree with most beautiful pink flowers which we decided to find and plant it at home. All in all, we will definitely come back as we didn't have anything to complain about.

United States of AmericaNo refrigerator in rooms. Staff entered room to deliver towels when we weren’t there, even though the sign on our door said “Do Not Disturb”. A better diversity of food choices on the dinner menu would be good.
Friendly staff; clean.

Irelandit's a pity the swimming pool is so small but for one night it was adequate.
The room was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable. The spa area and swimming pool were lovely and clean. I found the bar area lovely and relaxing and the staff were lovely to talk to.

IrelandThe Maryborough was everything we wanted for a chilled-out post-Christmas break. A family-owned boutique hotel, it oozes charm and old-school hospitality with plenty of character. We liked: A seriously comfy bed and the BEST pillows. Breakfast - a well-stocked Continental buffet with a spread of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cheese, meats and smoked salmon, as well as delicious pastries and even some mini custard doughnuts (seriously tasty, FYI...). Guests can also avail of a made-to-order hot breakfast including a traditional Full Irish, Eggs Benedict, pancakes or an omelette - I'd highly recommend the latter. No need to deal with parking or taxis - leave your car at the hotel and take the bus into the city centre. A stop for the 220 is located across the road from the main entrance. Buses are frequent, running every 15 minutes, and best of all, you can use your Leap card. A trip into the city costs a mere €1.35. The spa and thermal suite with complimentary access for all hotel residents.

NetherlandsThe beds were a bit uncomfortable for me, too stiff. Unable to use the spa because of my short stay (not that I wasn't allowed to, but I just had to get away the next day) I hope I'll be able to use the spa the next time I'm there.
The staff!
