Very little. The property is about 5 km outside Kilkenny and 5 km from Kells so you really need a car and you need someone to be a designated driver to get back from dinner at night.

Lovely property in spectacular area of Co. Kilkenny. Hosts Mairead abd Jimmy very welcoming and really knowledgeable about places of interest in the area. We visited places we would never have know about without their advice.

The bedroom was massive, beds were comfortable, Breakfast was outstanding! I lost my brand new earring down the back of the sink UBEND which they have said they will get a plumber to get it for me the next time they have a plumber around ! The Irish Dental Association hold their yearly conference here every year in Kilkenny so I will be telling more colleagues about this house.

Absolutely everything. We had a warm welcome from Mairead and Jimmy when we arrived and they treated us like royalty. The Lodge is charming in every way. The facilities are superb, as was the food. I’m sure we will return!

The welcome was very warm and kind. She showed us a room where we could have a drink whenever we wanted and with nice Easter eggs. The room was very spacious and very clean, not to mention the excellent bedding where once under the comforter you didn't want to move. The bathroom with shower was perfect and bright and very clean with different elements for comfort. The breakfast was very copious and with fresh products. Honestly I can't think of a single negative point. Our host gave us information for visits in the area and explanations on different sites to visit. The breakfast was excellent lots of choices available. The location was very peaceful. The room was spacious a lovely comfortable bed with ensuite. Mairead was a lovely host extremely helpful her knowledge of places to visit was very much appreciated. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely go back again.

Mairead and Jimmy were the best hosts my wife and I could have hoped for. They went above and beyond in every way, even doing all they could to help when my wife sustained an injury.
