Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Andrew very helpful. Kitchen had nearly everything you needed, plates very good quality very good space to sit, lots of couches, great table chairs to dine at. Good bedrooms.

IrelandDisappointed at the charge for the WiFi, we only used it for approx. 2 hours in evening if that. Think that in this day and age this should be included in the cost of the accommodation, it is not a luxury but a necessity and should be treated as such.
Location ideal for our needs.

IrelandThe beds were a bit uncomfortable and I wish they had been a bit clearer from the beginning about the extra fees for heating and electricity.
House was lovely and spacious, it fit everyone perfectly and it was equipped for everything. Fantastic location. Very quick walks to a shop, cafe and beach. Good restaurants nearby.

IrelandThe beds! It needs new mattresses, or even complete beds. Also, it'd be great if certain items eg salt and pepper, cooking oil were provided. Also the local information books were well out of date. And the garden was dirty from a dog.
It was very spacious, plenty of crockery and cookware so we didn't need to wash up after each meal. Great to have a dishwasher and washing machine. Good to have TV for the evenings, with plenty of channels . A quiet location/estate and a good base for touring.

IrelandBeds were terrible, springs sticking up, got very little sleep The blind in one room was broken and could not sleep in that room One room had an awful smell of smoke and hash smoke The carpets were dirty There was no back gate so the dog could not go out to yard The picnic bench in back yard has never been maintained and would be a risk to sit on it. Expecting visitors to bring rubbish to the bin yard was a bit much Also there was no clear indication as to which bin was for recycling or which for waste etc. Bins and bin lids in bin yard/area were not fully closed off fully and bin lids had openings perhaps broken which could encourage rodents.

IrelandTons of room for two families staying for a week. Andrew our caretaker could not do enough for us. Extra towels and on hand whenever we needed him. House was spotless and has everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Others complained about the shower but I can tell you, no it’s no a power shower but there is plenty of hot water for 7 of us to use daily and it did the job perfectly. Honestly, this was a home away from home and right next door to Ballymaloe Cookery School and two lovely beaches. Midleton was 20 odd minutes away and has everything you need to stock up as well as a lovely farmers market on a Thursday. The local garage less than 2 minutes drive away is very well stocked also should you need any essentials.

United KingdomSo glad we stayed at Shanagarry holiday Village. Andrew was our host and was there to meet us, direct us around and help us find a local taxi. 10/10 would recommend staying there. Apartment was perfect. Comfy beds, clean and perfect kitchen for what we needed. Heaps of space and a really nice location. Thanks heaps Shanagarry. Ps the Goal post pub serves a fine pint.
