It was not their fault that the weather was bad! We thought we could handle the cold as we come from Germany. But we didn't think of the continuous rain! But, Tariq and his team kept the nicest tea coming. And he even brought us some devine walnut fudge.

A houseboat on a beautiful lake with high mountains in the background! What more could you ask for! Tariq and his staff are excellent hosts. They keep you comfortable and attend to every need. (Tariq even bought the shop to me when the weather was bad! ❤️)

Too many salesman coming via boat to sell things to you. The owner was a bit sarcastic when we try to negotiate & discuss with him. Hot water was limited & no electric blanket available.

Good location, peaceful. Comfortable houseboat. Breakfast provided was good (Poha for vegetarians was amazing). Helpful to arrange driver for us.

Nothing. This is singular type of experience and totally relaxing and worth it.

A unique setting off the beaten path on quiet Lake Nageen. Decorated with local flair and down home comfort. Step off your back porch onto a personal shikara ride on the glassy water . . . what’s not to love?!!! Plus personally prepared private dinner and breakfast. Maybe Kashmir IS heaven on earth!

Warm and friendly welcome; much laughter was had. A fun and relaxed atmosphere in a stunning setting on peaceful Lake Nageen. Family-run with extraordinary home-made Kashmiri food. Imtiyaz, an excellent guide, took us round Srinagar and up into the mountains, again definitely worth doing. Whether watching the kites and kingfishers at sunset or watching the shikaras paddle past, it is a balm for the soul. I could go on, but suffice to say go and stay on the Lily of Nageen. Thank you!

The amazing sunset.. this boat has one of the best locations in Srinigar. It is parallel to the lake, not perpendicular like some, so you can watch the lake from all the rooms. The staff couldn’t be better.. everything we needed we catered for, including floating market tours, hiking trips into the mountains, meals we requested, laundry.. the lot!

You don't get a good Capccucino but that is just the case in Srinagar - you don't see it usually available as easily as you would want. But this is just me being a Coffee lover. Nothing negative about the place.

So, this houseboat is on Nigeen Lake and not on Dal Lake and that is the beauty of it. As most houseboats on Dal Lake don't have windows facing the lake but the ones on Nigeen Lake do (the ones on Dal lake are parked vertically so the entrance door of the boat faces the lake) which is quite a major difference. Another plus point is this lake is more peaceful with clearer waters. The hospitality of the person hosting us - 'Mehraaj' was amazing - he was friendly, cordial, and always welcoming. These are things you sense first when you come to a new place. This is what makes you feel at home while still brewing with the excitement of new things. This boat is perfect when you have 2 families as the boat has 2 rooms only which can be occupied by your family and hence the whole houseboat becomes your private space. The price of a meal is INR 400/person which looks high at the outset but then you pay for the quality of the food so justified. We stayed for one night but should have stayed for at least 2/3 nights as it is an awesome experience living on a houseboat. Highly recommended if you are visiting Srinagar.

The accommodation was not Lily of Nageen but Shalimar group of houseboats. The property was different from the photographs. The bedroom and bathrooms were cramped. No clean sheets on the bed. It only had woollen blankets possibly used by many! No heating either. We left without a bath the next morning. There was confusion at check in as well. We were taken to one houseboat, then we were told that is not the one, they did not know who Ajaz (host) was! We were then checked into another boat by the same person!

The housekeeper was courteous.

Absolutely loved our stay here! All the staff were very helpful when there was any issues they aimed to please. The hospitality we were shown was beyond expectations. The breakfast was great and we were even fed dinner a few times! Besides how beautiful the houseboat is decorated the location is magical, very peaceful. The way the house boat sits every room has an actual lake view which is unique from most other boats in Dal or Nigeen lakes! Thanks Imtiaz, Meraj and Ajaz

Everything about this houseboat is beautiful. The location,the calmness, bade ehjaz bhai took great care of us & made us feel home. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The houseboat is beautifully decorated, airy and well lit. We stayed here for two days & it was magical. It's simple yet charming.
