It could be cleaner, there were candle leftovers on the floor, dust in the cabinet, and also the dogs created mess which wasn’t cleaned up for a while

Not easy to find (Behind Sandybar).

Breakfast in Sandybar was nice. Great garden and very quiet place. Love the beach! Quiet and beautiful!

I feel that this place has the potential to be really gorgeous.. with a few tweaks here and there, a good clean up and a bit of maintenance and updating and a genuine sustainability programme to include recycling. I didn't like accessing the property through the back end of the Sandy Bay Café...as I had to walk through their rubbish dump each time...these things may not necessarily bother everyone, because the Temple Tree is a nice welcome at the end of it all.

Nice welcome, and when I was sick Indrajith was kind and brought us tea to the cabin. Enjoyed the flora and fauna of the site, sitting on the porch in the shade when it was hot, and the visits from the puppies and their mum. Nice to be close to Odayam beach too.

It was only accessible through the back-end of a cafe that was pretty unclean. The room could do with a bit of an update, ie brighter lightbulbs, and more of a clean on the outside of the buildings. This won't bother everyone though as it is gold value for money. A recycling point for plastic would be good.

I booked a tent stay during the monsoon. Water leaked into our tent and we got wet while sleeping The tent's hot inside. No air circulation. So I wouldn't recommend it In our room the fan is in a worst condition

The rooms could have been cleaner, our basin tap only worked by using a feeder tap under the basin. The walkway in could have been made nicer.

This place is absolutely beautiful, there is an abundance of wildlife including small snakes and terrapins in the waterways and so many beautiful birds including kingfishers, owls and eagles, we were quite mesmerised. The huts are behind a restaurant on the beach - Sandy Bay - it is a rugged walkway and wouldn't work with suitcases. The huts are basic, they're ok, cleaning was minimal but ok. Nice porch to sit out on. The tents are pretty small tents, just enough space for a bed. The manager and staff are very welcoming and helpful. They sell bottles of water, 1 litre for 20 inr. The Juicy cafe - a 15 min walk up the road has brilliant local cheap food (about 100 inr or less, per meal). The local beach is right next to here, at around 8 am the fishermen are all out with a big fishing net, hauling in their catch by hand - it's quite a sight.

Very special place with lots of green and surrounded by wildlife. Very quiet and yet just a minute away from the beaches. Quick to walk to the more busy center and also to some more quiet beaches. Really nice and helpful staff. They even climbed a palmtree for us on the last day to get us a fresh coconut. Clean room and very comfortable bed. Definitely recommend!

It is simply overpriced. Rooms are very basic, which would be ok for a lower price. E.g. the mattress is a thin piece of soft foam, so you will more or less lie on the wood of the bed. If you are looking for a quiet place, don’t go on the weekend, since there are parties in the bar close by. Also there is a huge mosque right next door and the first call of the Muezzin is at 5 am every day. The path from the beach to the compound could be made nicer. I liked the guys who run it, but they weren’t particularly welcoming or helpful and don’t seem to be interested in making their place match the exaggerated description they put on here.

The houses and the site are really beautiful. It’s a five minute walk from Odayam beach, which meant I could go swimming first thing in the morning and even after dark. The room is basic but had everything I needed. With a bit more care and effort and better prices this could actually be a great place to stay.

sad to leave a negative review but I feel responsible towards other travelers I booked one extra night and paid for it, to be kicked out in the middle of the day saying there was a mistake there’s an infestation of spiders and ants in the room I stayed - I got several bites and some seem infected the bar by the beach organizes rave / reggae parties 3 nights a week at least until 12.30 am- the caretaker reassured me there were no parties at night so was disappointed and slept poorly the bedsheets and towels didn’t look very clean the area doesn’t seem the safest for solo female travelers; I got approached in an unpleasant way many times

Mak sure to get a bungalow. I stayed in an unventileted tent. Hoter inside than outside during the night. Smelly and hot. I moved after one night.

There could be definitely improvement on the hygiene and basic facilities. Rooms don't get clean everyday if you stay for multiple days. The second day there was no water in bathroom and noone was picking up the call. Noone is available for checkout as well. Left the key and came back.

It is a budget friendly stay for sure. Since I was coming to the room only for the sleeping, it was a good deal for me.

It's a very old property with poor maintenance. There is even a water leakage on the floor. And there is not even a lock that is not proper to lock the door. Inside the room there is no proper maintenance. In the bathroom we need to wipe up the floor for the water to dry. There are no complimentary things from the property like a towel, toothbrush and paste and even a chair and Mirror. Importantly on my way to the property there is a bad odour coming up. It was my personal experience in August 2023.

Its pretty far and is very difficult to find the place. Also its not value for money. Small room and not even water is available easily. There was a small and narrow way to beach as this place is like a hidden place which is neither close to roads nor beach.
